It depends what your plans are. Typical supporting boltons are definitely a good idea. You can get a stock IX turbog with boltons on E85 in the 400/400 range. Throw on a stock frame turbo like a MAP EF3 and you'll make some very awesome numbers on e85.
If you decide to go with a t3 turbo supporting mods will still be a necessity, the stock block will appreciate the delayed torque, yet that will mean you won't have much usable low end power. You can expect to make some pretty solid hp numbers with a turbo like a 6262 on just 93 oct at significantly lower boost levels than what you'd find you'd need to push out of a stock frame upgrade turbo.

On a personal level, if the car isn't drag-centered, 450-500whp makes for a relatively unexciting street Evo. Why? Because, it's still 2.0L of displacement and ~3200lbs of mass, but now the powerband is even higher in the range.

Simplest answer: Take your money to an Evolution specialist shop, discuss your goals, and have them build you a car. By not knowing the platform and its ins-and-outs you're setting yourself up for a long road ahead that usually terminates in a partout. If this is what you want to do as a new Evo owner, contract someone else's expertise.

I retract my statement. Your right. If the 450whp goal is reached by throwing a 35r on a callin it a day. Then it's an unexciting street car
But if you reach the 450 mark the right way with low end power and tons of torque then there's nothing "unexciting"

I agree with him. Go to a shop that can discuss your goals... a drag car will be different than a street sweeper, will be different than a road racing car. 450 whp is a meaningless number unless you know how you intend to get there. Fuel type, turbo size, and motor all play huge factors. Yes, you can hit 450 whp with a 35R on pump with a stock block, but the car will be miserable on the road.
I am not trying to take it to a shop, why? when i have a buddy of mine that knows how to do this stuff and plus I will get a good lesson on how to do it later on my self. My car allready has AMS FMIC, AMC LICP, AMS BATTERY Tray, AMS FULL TURBO BACK EXHAUST WITH 4" DOWNPIPE, STAGE 3 CLUTCH, INJEN INTAKE, MEGAN HEADER, AFTER MARKET BOOST GAUGE, AEM WIDEBAND Is it running currently 91 gas. I think thats what it all has, what can i put on that mod list to imporve the hp to 500whp? Where i live there is alot of E85 stations lol So would not be to hard to tune it to that maybe, what would i need to get a e85 tune?
