Rubbing or grinding when starting in 1st gear and turning left or right.

Here's the problem. Most of the time when I',m starting from a dead stop and I turn right or left I get this weird shudder and almost a grinding noise. Almost feels like the car is struggling to go. This never happens when I'm above ten miles an hour. It sometimes comes and goes. At first I thought it was the tires rubbing against something, but I haven't been able to find anything to support that.

So is this normal, anyone else experiencing this?

in cars with all wheel drive this is normal since front wheels are being driven at different speeds when turning, so there is some binding of gears in front diff, normal in audis and most other awd cars, but i seemed to notice it more when i put my snow tires on, but in not concerned, it is normal. i just wanted to see who else is experiencing this.

I bought it with 9 miles on the car.

I'll check the RPM's next time it happens.

Is this a common occurence with EVO's.

i work at an audi dealer as a assistant service mgr, and with all all wheel drive vehicles, some binding of the drivtrain when accelerating from a stop while turning is expected and normal.
it doesnt concern me with my evo, i just wonderered how common it was, and how many people experienced it.
