Harness bars and harnesses.

Hey guys i wanna get some info and opinions. Iv heard good and bad about harness bars. Im interested in getting 4pt harnesses in my car for the added safety as well as the agressive looks. Noone plans on wrecking their car and the only time i would really need the use for the 4pt harness is when i occasionally race at the dragstrip.

With all that said iv heard lots of hype about harness bars being bad and good what do all of you say???

I kno theres a few different companies who make a reputable harness bar that keeps all stock functions of the car and backseats.

I kno theres a right and wrong way to install a safety harness and this is a major factor to all the good/bad talk i hear about harness bars and stuff.

Another question i have that i havent found much info on is that if i didnt decide to use a harness bar but still wanted to correctly install a 4pt safety harness is there a way to do that?

thanks for all the info and opinions its helpfull to everyone

I don't see how a 4pt harness would help you at the drag strip. You aren't turning so you don't need to be held in your seat. It won't really be safer than the OEM belts either unless you have a full cage and helmet.

Totally agree, but there's no need to be held in for drag racing... Just tugging on your seatbelt to lock it before putting it on will hold you in plenty enough for going in a straight line...

You don't really need a harness bar if you want to install sparco harness. You can attach them from the floor board behind ur front seats or you can take out the back seats and attach them were the seat belt screws are. Here's pic of my setup.

Where in the floor do they attach to? Could you post a pic?
