coilover question
coilover question
so looking at my car i notice the drivers side is higher then the passenger side. i pull out a tape measure and theres about a 1/2" difference between the 2 sides. i thought maybe i set them wrong or something came loose so i pulled the wheels off and check my coilovers.
heres what i dont understand. the 2 front and 2 rears have the same measurement! im measuring from the spot on all 4 coilovers also. i dont understand how this measurement is the same but the passenger side is still lower then the drivers
how can i make both sides even? is it okay to have the coilover measurements uneven to make the car sit even?

Are you 100% sure you are on level ground?
Also, your car isn't perfectly corner balanced so there is some weight adjustment to height.
These two things combined can certainly amount to 1/2"

no, it means the car is balanced with balasts or one way or the other to have more even distribution FR R to L and RR R to L... the spring rates would not change from the manufacturer. Often times however your OEM vehicle may have slightly different spring rates (yes even R to L) because of corner balance differences to balance the ride height.
Also, if your car was drag raced at all your frame could be a bit twisted. Nearly all of my Foxbodies sat an inch higher on the left than the right from the car twisting when launching.
