im using a braille 15lbs and it works better than the oem battery.. I took out the braille battery thinking it wouldnt hold up in the winter and when the oem battery started to take a **** after my car being parked for a month I put the braille in and it started right up.

Bumping old thread here

My mini is dead and I need a new one. I don't know which one it is, its the one included in the ets kit. I'm in Germany now and the winters here are fierce. Any suggestions? I power a 1600 watt system with it along with all the rest of the stuff in the ssl Evo . Never had any issues with the ets battery and bumping along with some bass.

That would depend on where you live actually. I stayed away from the 680 because of the ridiculous Chicago winters I have to daily drive through. I got a PC925 and thru 2 winters no issues as of yet. There's a couple of manufacturers also making a battery tray where you can mount it in the stock location. I have a 3" uicp from JM Fab and the small battery was a must.

EFI makes a battery kit that uses a 51 Battery. You can get an interstate battery with 500CCA and not have to worry about your car not starting. Its a tight fit with short route i/c piping but can be done.

I bought a Bosch small battery from pep boys before and it looked exactly like this. It fit in the stock tray location too except this one you posted has great cca. Eventually I had to switch to a PC925 because I switched from 2.5" piping to 3" piping. But that battery you posted looks like it would work great. Just need some post adapters.

I wish someone would make a nice miata battery tray for the evo to stay in the engine bay and work with short route pipes.

I recently switched from a PC680 to a smaller and lighter Re-branded Braille (Deka).

Took some custom work to get it to fit with my old GSC battery tray though.
