MR coming in '05
I sure hope the MR shows up in 05. and for the nay sayers. Chew on the possibility of all the wrecked MRs you can scavange bits and parts from.. Isn't that one of the best parts of being a car freak. you get to get all greasy and nasty swapping out part number 96743-75647 from model year 03 to the special edition model year 05 thereby tranforming your once sedate super sedan in to ther uber monster t4rr0R super customized thirll ride it was meant to evolve into. I'm surprised every one isn't overwhelmed with interest in seeing more mitsu product that shares swapability with the Evo showing up. It only helps bring down the costs for upgrades/repairs and finding spare parts. Isn't the great thing about DSMs the fact they have the 350v8 of the import world able to be found at nearly any wrecking yard? What better to have more driveline bits and interior light switches to pick and chooose from than by having mitsu do the smart thing and have more options for fat pizza eating 'mericans to pick from as their weapon of the masses destruction, the automobile.

I am with Blonde on this one..I am waiting for the Suby STI Spec C (Yes, it is coming), as my EVO 8 will out-perform the MR by the time it hits stateside regardless..
Is this the Subie Spec C??

Yeah, your modded EVO 8 will outperform it at first but then what happens when you mod the "MR"??!

That is a picture of a Legacy, chopped. In fact, it even says its chopped at the bottom left corner.
also, nothing is going to happen when you mod the MR because they are the same engine. if you change your suspension to cusco zero2r for a example, what can you do to the MR to make it better???
There would be aftermarket available on the MR as well..
And those mods would make the MR that much faster..still..
The biggest change in the MR version is the installation of an all-wheel control system, which continually adapts the level of suspension damping applied to each wheel using specially designed Bilstein shocks. The result, of course, is an even higher handling threshold. In addition, Mitsubishi has cut curb weight and lowered the car's center of gravity through the use of aluminum for the roof panel and various other weight-saving measures in the upper half of the body.
And here is where you note that the engine is NOT the same:
Improvements were also made to the electronic all-wheel-drive system (and its driver-adjustable active center differential) and the competition-oriented stability control system (Super AYC, or Active Yaw Control) — both of which are standard fare on Evos sold in Japan — as well as the antilock brake system. Tweaks to the turbocharger and cams increase peak torque output, and the engine has been tuned for competition use with an emphasis on maximizing the available power at mid-to-high rpm.
Now if those "tweaks" can't be "tweaked", I hear your point about your car being faster with mods..
But something tells me that those tweaks are internal and done by Mits which would/should leave room for aftermarket mods..
I could be wrong..
