cigarette lighter

ijust bought an 06 gsr ix and the previous owner had put the mr gauges where the head unit used to be and put a radio relocation kit in for the head unit to go on the bottom. my question is i tried using the cig lighter to charge my iphone the other day and realized that the lighter wasnt working and im not sure which fuse it is or if its even a fuse i read somewhere that the gauges might have somethig to do with it since they are not stock. does anyone have ay input that might help me fix this issue so i can use it to charge my iphone and ipod thanks alot

during some random modification to my car, i was taking apart the center console and had forgot to re-connect the cig lighter. take apart the console around the shifter, follow the lighter to it's connector and make sure it's connected to its mate.

there might be a fuse somewhere too, but i think the lighter would be shared (assumption) and would give you problems other places.

good luck. if you are scared of the interior pieces search the how to's. it's very very simple to do the center console.

If your not sure which fuse is it why not check them all. That would be the easiest way get a fuse extractor I think the car should come with one. The fuse panel should be on the drivers side on the lower part of the dash just center consolde near the door on the lower left side of the steeringwheel get a flashlight to and check to see if the fuse is blown.

Good advice above. There is a cig light fuse behind coin tray and the cig lighter might also be unplugged. Check both and you'll probably find the culprit. If not be prepared to clean up the wiring from the previous owner.

It is a 15A fuse behind the coin tray. The 3rd fuse from left to right on the second row. Hope that makes sense

If you pull off the center console you should be able to check the basics like if the wiring is loose, if it is plugged in, etc. Like all gauge installs, it depends on how the previous owner did it. Some jobs are sloppy and the wrong wires were cut, some are good. Hopefully you don't end up with a mess when you put it back together.

Did anyone ever figure out why the hell so many of the Evos have this problem? I just replaced my console and now neither the cig lighter nor the two small bulbs on that harness are working. The fuse shows continuity across it, but even with the car running and the lights on, there is no power across the fuse or across the blades where the fuse rests. I pulled the same cig lighter harness out of my Evo parts car and plugged it in. and still nothing. I had the fmic water sprayer plug out, and thinking that maybe the power was in series, I plugged it in just to check and STILL NOTHING! WTF! So annoying. I just want the damn lights in my console to all work.
