New Sparco Evo VIII [All Threads MERGED]
The stock hood weighs 17.6 lbs. The AAR carbon hood weighs 10.6 lbs. The stock trunk weighs 21 lbs while the AAR trunk weighs 5.8 lbs. That is a total weight savings of 22.2 lbs. Since the trunk was only finished yesterday pricing hasn't been finalized but Monday I should have a number. Water will not be a problem because it has the exact dimensions of the stock hood and trunk. All rubber molding can be attached and all drain holes are present. These are autoclaved parts made with pre-pregged carbon not simply wet lay up in a bag.
I e-mailed in regard to ordering the trunk and the hood. No response. If you guys at AAR read this please contact me.

Check Out The New Sparco EvoVIII Roll Cage Pics
Well, we couldn't wait any longer to share a few pics of the custom roll cage installed in the SPARCO/Apexi EvoVIII. This cage was custom fabricated for this car. Our goal was to have the most stealth and passenger friendly cage, while providing additional safety and chasis rigidity.
The cage runs through the dash in the front and along the A-pillars and attaches to the rear shock towers in the trunk, where it is welded to custom plates and a strut tower bar that is part of the cage. While we were at it, we had the entire trunk painted body color, as we are not going to run the carpeting in the back. You'll see why in future photos....and no, it's not so we can add 100lbs of stereo equipment.
The rear seats are completely usable and easy to access, and the front side impact bars are low enough so getting in and out of the car is not a problem.
We couldn't be happier with the end result.....and OH YEAH, those seats are the Sparco seats manufactured for the new Ferrari ENZO. The world's only 100% carbon fiber reclinable seats and the only two in the world that are not in a Ferrari ENZO.
This is a shot of the custom gauge mount. It will be painted to match the cage and is so clean and stealth. All wiring is run through the cage. The stock air vents are going to be trimmed and re-fit around the cage so it keeps that factory look.

I swear you guys post this stuff so I'll just go broke faster! Ok, how much, where do I sign up, and what's the turn around?
I have a blue Evo and you guys are doing EVERYTHING I have been talking about doing (don't believe me, check out some of my earlier posts about what I want to do my Evo). Hmmm, so this is what the reality looks like. I have wanted full-carbon seats and a cage, but the gauge pods integrated into the roll cage are awesome! Dammit - I am never going to get out of debt...
I am assuming all of this work is being done in SoCal - I would be more than happy to leave my car there for a while...
