New Sparco Evo VIII [All Threads MERGED]
Tell me a place that will do that high quality of work. Please, I am dying to know. The work they are doing on that car is top-notch and since I'll be without the car for a while, it doesn't matter which coast the car is on.
I am very interested in good shops out here. So far I have pretty much settled on letting Pruven do all of my installation work. I know they do good work on mechanicals.

Shops that have AWD Dynos and capable of all your performance work...
Within an hour of DC Area:
Extreme Motorsports (4G63 Experts)
Altered Atmosphere
Several Hour Drive:
Pruven
You can have most work completed and tuned in 1-3 span. 3 Day would be EXTENSIVE work, ie. driveline and engine/tuning.
There are plenty of capable places that could fabricate a NHRA spec roll-cage for you. Most of those shops can do it or have associates that can perform this work.

You managed to miss TurboXS which is right up the street from Altered Atmosphere Motorsports.
And really I'd not use AAM but that's just me personally because they over-charge and don't do high quality work like they did a few years ago. Although I heard they recently hired a bunch of new hands and got rid of some, so perhaps they will turn around again.
TurboXS, btw, is building parts for Evo8s so they are definitely an Evo8 shop now, in addition to being a Subie shop.

I looked into TurboXS, but there wasn't any notice about servicing cars. Also, it did appear that they are primarily a Subaru tuner. I haven't heard of Extreme - do you have a contact name/number?
Thanks
Thanks

Chris your worried to much...
Don't do everything overnight, you will just cause problems... make things gradual. So start buying parts now
Having an AWD Dyno would be nice for fine tuning your car and seeing the gains, but you don't necessarily need it.

I am not worried and I have been very gradual. From experience I've learned to have your ducks lined up before you jump in. I want to make sure I have a good installer, fabricator, body/paint shop, etc. before I have a pile of parts in my place. I won't be building this car overnight. Some things you have to jump when the opportunity comes (ie the hood and trunk), the rest can wait, but it would be good to know how to get it done when that time comes. Thanks for your suggestion!
P.S. I didn't expect to get this excited over the Evo - I just like it that much. The next car will probably be an FX45 to accompany the Evo.

So far without the motor work I see about 10k spent. Prob 10-15k more on the motor, do you have 25k to put into your evo to make it not very streetable? If so buy a damn racecar and don't screw around with the evo. Get a Formula Mazda and enjoy

Clearly this man has too much money. Not only is he giving away top dollar to mod his Evo, he's going to buy a hot new SUV to "accompany" it.
Dude, have you ever modded a car before? You do realize it's a black hole for money and will never be perfect, right? I've seen so many people drop $10k into modding their cars and still not be satisfied and/or have it not run right or just not be very streetable if they spend the money purely on engine mods.
Gotta look out for you bro

BTW, the work I am looking at for body (excluding some paint), will be about $5K, and I will probably spend another $7K on the motor. And it will be daily-driveable... Now - back to the pits.
The funny thing is this company is making a show car prob about 80-100k evo when they are done, I think he is just trying to keep up with the joneses...

For 12,000 you are NOT going to get anything like that car. Now back to the 2nd job lol

Actually, over the next few years, yes I do. And no I am not buying a Formula Mazda, a spec-anything, etc.

I will be going to VIR a few times next year. I put 1,000 that you will not pass me in my STOCK evo, I don't care what mods you have. Deal?

I was just thinking in my head how awesome this car would look or similar car with:
This carbon hood and truck
C-West Body Kit w/ Carbon Canards
Volk GT-U 2 Piece Gunmetal w/ Chrome Lip
Evolution VIII Badge
EVO 7 Tails
Chris buy these, take it to a body shop and post pictures just so I can see it
By that time a GT40 Turbo w/ a cast manifold will be released...
Is this bet open to anyone?

I dunno man, Chris has done some canyon runs in his Evo - I think he knows its limits fairly well at its current level of modification. Why so fast to throw betting into this? Feel challenged by his willingness to spend money on his car?
