Hey guys i have a question that maybe one of you can answer that iv been wondering for a long time lol...

Me and my buddy both have Evo9's, both have the same buschur racing bullet exhaust yet his evo is 10x louder then mine and sounds less restrictive (can kinda hear turbo whistle out the exhaust) Its been wrecking my brain why his car sounds so much louder and different when we have the same exact exhaust. The only difference in mods between us is im on a stock ported EM/o2 and hes on a stock EM/Invida o2, but does the o2 really make that big of a different in sound in idle, cruising and WOT? its a big difference between the two of us in sound so im just curious if someone can answer me lol.

How long have each of you had the exhaust? Also what kind of test pipes do you both have? I'm actually buying my Bullet exhaust soon. How do you like it?

 

Are there any leaks in the louder exhaust?

 

You guys have different exhaust manifolds? That's responsible for much more sound right there. So they're not exactly the same.

To those asking... I have (currently) a full buschur bullet exhaust and it's awesome. No test pipe, just the one piece. I'm about to add an O2 housing and toxicfab tubular exhaust mani next weekend (or so).

Car sounds much more muscley than Japanese, though it still sounds Japanese.

People do tell me that it's really loud though. But I think it's a bit more on how you drive.

 

Im not sure exactly how long they are, i know mine is 2yrs+ We both have the buschur testpipe, i love the exhaust just wish it sounds like his does rather then mine lol.

nope no leaks, just more free-flowing sounding and louder

We have the same exhaust manifolds mines just ported, we have different o2 housings tho, mines stock ported, his is invidia 3" one, thats what i think it is causign the diff in sound but im not 100% sure

you have me stumped. if it was JUST idle i'd think there could be some causes, ut yous aid at every level even cruising...

get a sound meter and see if it's just in your head, lol

I don't think the O2 would cause that big of a difference, but it might. They only other thing I could think of is over time the packing in the mufflers burning off. Also I have heard people say different tunes cause can different exhaust notes but it shouldn't be what you are describing.

 

It's the 02 I just went for, stock to Megan only thing I swapped was o2. Invidia is huge compared to stock or megan. Wish I would have gotten it.

 

Yea thats what im thinking too, i guess ill find out when i change to a o2 dump and see lol

 

My bullet exhaust is crazy loud with a downpipe and stm test pipe.
