plasti dip trunk

so i was short on funds and had to sell my CF trunk....

picked up a EB stock trunk for 45, my car is "pure white" a off color from lambo.
with a black roof.

should i plastidip the trunk flat? or try and get a glossy black for it, is that possible with plastidip?

or just try and pre trunk myself and spray it gloss black, the white paint for my car is wayyy to pricey right now for me to order more.

I vinyled mine for 60 bucks, since my CF one was Faded to hell.
I have to say the trunk is prolly the hardest thing next to the front bumper to vinyl on this car due to the Curve of it.

Not a fan of the plastidip stuff. My neighbor did his roof, hood, and trunk on a GTI and I think it looks like hot garbage. It looks like someone took bed liner spray to it. I'd definitely try to match the roof.

I'd really have to disagree with this post. The thing is, plasti dip is easy to apply, but hard to perfect. You get a good sprayer, watch tons of videos, prep well, and take your time and your car will turn out beautifully. I've experimented with this stuff quite a bit and I'd say if you're gonna do it, don't rattle can it.

I suppose I can agree with that. He did his in his garage with some cans of it. He taped off areas and such and the lines aren't crisp or anything. If I were to do it, I would just take it to one of the places who specialize in it. I've seen some cars that look decent...Heck, if Lambo's do it, I suppose it's worth a shot. Maybe I'm just not a fan of his turnout.

Yeah, everyone sees plasti dip as the cheapest alternative when really you'll spend more than you do vinyl wrapping to get it right if you haven't had enough experience with it.

I did it myself, Heat gun, Spray bottle, felt tipped squeegee and your GTG.

If your going to have it done, be prepared to shell out some cash.
