How far do you need to drive after swapping cat/CEL fix to reset ECU monitors?
So I've had my Evo IX MR a little over a year now and it's time to get a NY inspection. I have full bolt-ons, cams, FP Green, etc. and I'm using a Mil.Spec 100 cell cat because I hated the smell of the test pipe.
I still get a CEL which I know is from the rear o2 sensor so I just picked up this 90 degree spacer http://www.speed-element.com/servlet...cel-fix/Detail (because I had fitment issues with the spark plug non-fouler) and I also have the stock cat.
My question is after swapping the cat or installing the spacer, how long will I have to drive before my monitors are "ready"? I searched around on here and some people seemed to imply you could just swap it and go get the inspection right away, but my understanding was that if I clear the CEL I will have to do a drive cycle (maybe 80-100ish miles) for the monitors to reset. I just don't want to show up at the inspection place and look like I've done something fishy.
Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

easiest way is to go to your tuner (or get a tactrix cable) and force all the systems to ready. otherwise, i think NORMAL driving for ~50 miles (with a few restarts in between) at varying speeds will enable all systems to be ready except for maybe Evap (need to let the car sit overnight).
A mix of city and highway driving. About 50 miles is all you need to get most of the moniters ready. The evap monitor usually takes the longest to get ready in my state MA, you can pass with one monitor not ready.
Evap monitor won't run with less than 1/4 tank of gas or more than 3/4. Best way to run monitors is to start the car dead cold and do about 10 miles of mixed city and highway. I can usually get all of them to run in 5-8 miles.
Great info, thanks for the responses. I've put on the 90degree spacer and got my buddy to hook up his cable and clear the CEL w/o disconnecting the battery. The monitors are still not ready yet so I guess I will just have to drive a little bit.
