Is it normal for your CEL light to just turn off?

Well the only mods i have are a non-catted turbo back exhaust with a CEL fix and a drop in air filter. So i was going to wait for more mods to get a tune so for about 3 weeks the CEL light has been on while I've been driving. Last Friday the 12th of September i parked my car in the garage and haven't driven it until this morning on the 15th and to my surprise i didn't have a CEL light anymore. Can anyone tell me if this is normal or is the CEl fix finally working?

This is actually normal but I'm not sure if it is normal for the problem that caused your CEL. It's normal if your CEL goes on because you didn't tighten down your gas cap but then retighten it and then cycle through some engine turn-ons and turn-offs. Maybe your car fixed itself.

Get a scantool and check the codes, when the CEL came on, it would have stored a code. That doesnt mean it wont come back on, o2 sensors are bad about that.

I actually carry a scantool with me all the time, sometimes you may get a random code for a reason, with my car modded like it is, I do at times. Just clear it and if it dont come back on anytime soon, dont worry about it.

Go get it checked at autozone for free and search what the code is on here.

Yes they will. Once your ecu runs enough drive cycles with out a re-occuring fault it will turn the MIL off. Not true for SRS tho

When the exhaust was installed with that CEL fix, the negative to the battery should have been pulled out to reset ECU that would've fix the problem the first time.

My CEL came on 2 days after I bought my Evo, and it hasn't gone off since. That was 3 months ago...
