Did anyone receive this letter from Mitsubishi Motors North America?

I know there are not alot of people that still have "stock" Evo's but anyone updated the software? Is this something fairly recent?

For 2006 Lancer Evolution letter said "current software programming for the ECM could cause damage to the cat and updated software will have the vehicle exhibit a much more pronounced fuel cut or power reduction in the over-redline fuel cut out range for several seconds."

The job pays the tech 1.5 hours to flash software updates? That's awesome for them. I wish any of our software flashes payed anywhere near that.

NO. 1.5 hours is total time including check in, waiting in queue, lunch break, afternoon matinee, reflash of PCM, an return of vehicle.

Seriously..... the job pays 0.3 to reflash and book labor to replace the cat if needed it is actually pretty high... 0.6 if I recall for Evos.
The 1.5 is for worst case scenario so the customer isn't ticked off when it takes 1.5 hours because there car doesn't even go into the shop for an hour.

Gotcha, ya that makes more sense.

I have a totally stock engine & exhaust setup still. I'm tempted to reflash my ECU back to stock, take it to the dealer for the TSB, and get a copy of the updated ROM just to see if they changed anything else in the code. I doubt it, but could be interesting.

Well I am 100% stock original owner with 40k miles on mine, I still have 100k powertrain warranty, and they want to extend my catalytic converter warranty from federally mandated 80k to 100k +$50 in gas. Well since I am keeping it stock, I am taking mine in today. Heck the car is still worth 23k. Wanna keep the values up! No aftermarket crap on my baby! So I have no worry with the Dealer.
