Its not very spacious. i know itz supposed to be small for aerodynamics and stuff, but its a tight fight in the back. The sales rep. for told me the Evo has the same dimensions as the Lancer. From pictures, the Evo lookz bigger and longer than the Lancer. Who knows if this is true or not?

It looks bigger because of the flared fenders. I'm not sure about the wheelbase but the interior dimensions are the same. Remember it IS a "LANCER" after all. I'm sure the M5 has the same dimensions as regular 5 series.

I really feel that the space in an S4 and an RS4 should be almost identical, if not the same. I feel that my borther's S4 is soooo unspacious in the rear, I never really felt comfortable in it. But i dunno you say what you say.

What are the RS6 specs you ask? 450HP 0-60 in like 5.2 I beleive. It's one quick car

Funny, I don't hear people complaining about any Evos "overheating" but I do hear people complaining about that crap transmission the WRX has. If you think the STI will be any different, your sadly mistaken.

Everything that happens after 60mph would probably get ugly for the Evo 8.

Have a friend with an RS4. The car is quick but the brakes are weak to stop that monster. I hope they improved that in the RS6.

The RS6 comes with 8 pot calipers at the front... I'm sure that's enough...But for US$80,000 there's so many cars I can choose from...

The RS6 is actually 86 grand, does 0 to 60 in 4.2 seconds and does the 1/4 mile in 12.8 secs at 109 mph. Not bad for a two ton vehicle but US will only be getting a little over 800 of em and every one of them are almost already spoken for. They will be much harder to get then the Evo. Beast of car!! Performance wise, its unbelievable cause its awd as well but Automobile magazine picked the M5 over it in their latest issue bc the RS6 is too nose heavy on the turns.

THe RS6 weighs too much and only comes with an automatic transmission. (Yawn). It's not a true drivers car, although it is fast. The RS4 is much better an option, although we can't get that here.

It will be interesting to see how the STI and Evo stack up against each other when they come here since Subaru seems to be addressing some of the points people complain about (understeer, lack of raw power, etc.).

The STi 6-speed is much stronger than the WRX 5-speed.

I think there will still be complaints about the STi 6-speed, and I think there will be complaints about the Evo's transmission as well - once it starts being sold in America.

Americans drive their cars differently than nearly everywhere else in the world. For most Americans, all the excitement in their driving life is racing from the stoplights (I know, I am one! ). There isn't anything intrisnically wrong with that, but it's hard on the drivetrain, especially hard with an AWD vehicle. Subaru, very simply, did not experience the level of complaints against the transmission from *anywhere* that they got in the States. This may be hard for Americans to comprehend, but people don't race from the stoplights in other countries. I think the average American will do a hard launch from a stoplight more times per week than the average Japanese will do per year. Really. And it seems that Europeans can also be included in the same group as the Japanese.

Why do you think MMC will sell the Evo with the 5-speed? Because they want it to work under the driving conditions that it will only face in America.

Cheers,

Paul Hansen
