told me the Evo has the same dimensions as the Lancer. From pictures, the Evo lookz bigger and longer than the Lancer. Who knows if this is true or not?

It looks bigger because of the flared fenders. I'm not sure about the wheelbase but the interior dimensions are the same. Remember it IS a "LANCER" after all. I'm sure the M5 has the same dimensions as regular 5 series.

What are the RS6 specs you ask? 450HP 0-60 in like 5.2 I beleive. It's one quick car
Funny, I don't hear people complaining about any Evos "overheating" but I do hear people complaining about that crap transmission the WRX has. If you think the STI will be any different, your sadly mistaken.

You cannot infer anything from a car's max power. Acceleration depends on weight, capacity, torque, power, gearing, aerodynamics, etc.

THe RS6 weighs too much and only comes with an automatic transmission. (Yawn). It's not a true drivers car, although it is fast. The RS4 is much better an option, although we can't get that here.
It will be interesting to see how the STI and Evo stack up against each other when they come here since Subaru seems to be addressing some of the points people complain about (understeer, lack of raw power, etc.).

I think there will still be complaints about the STi 6-speed, and I think there will be complaints about the Evo's transmission as well - once it starts being sold in America.
Americans drive their cars differently than nearly everywhere else in the world. For most Americans, all the excitement in their driving life is racing from the stoplights (I know, I am one!
). There isn't anything intrisnically wrong with that, but it's hard on the drivetrain, especially hard with an AWD vehicle. Subaru, very simply, did not experience the level of complaints against the transmission from *anywhere* that they got in the States. This may be hard for Americans to comprehend, but people don't race from the stoplights in other countries. I think the average American will do a hard launch from a stoplight more times per week than the average Japanese will do per year. Really. And it seems that Europeans can also be included in the same group as the Japanese. Why do you think MMC will sell the Evo with the 5-speed? Because they want it to work under the driving conditions that it will only face in America.
Cheers,
Paul Hansen
