STi S202 just claimed the fastest 4 door sedan in the world
Check out the Mercedes Benz E55 Yet? That's 450+hp.

Thought the evo extreme was king?

there is also a thread on this topic in the "General" part of the evo forums. however, I will respond, not flame.
1) by everyone, you mean who??? I've never said that, so obviously not everyone. A lot of us are still waiting for specs, so no one really knows, now do we?
2) how are you defining "faster"? 0-60 and the 1/4 aren't the only ways to look at how fast a car is.
3) They CLAIMED that is the fastest 4 door. first, look at part 2, then remember that it is ADVERTISING. They are promoting their product obviously.
4) WRX is more reliable than the Evo.... got proof? In what department?
In conclusion you truly ARE asking to be flamed. If you are going to make claims, make them properly, please.

If a car is faster then another car 0-60 and 1/4 , that define faster.
I know 4 door got its advertage, thats y is "EVO VS STi"
Once you get an EVO, you will found out.
EVO always overheat cuz of the FMIC blocking the radiator, it has been talked about in a lot of japanese racing video tape.

I think u should ask Claudius about that, I'm sure he will beg to differ...and u say "always"...u been there for every single EVO?
How can u be driving a car that comes out 2 years from now?
I think Evowannabe is right..u might be asking for it...

I could never figure out why people take the time to read threads about the a car they don't own, don't like or even worse don't have clue about Reminds me of days of "I bet my dad can beat up your dad" bit Also the overheat was not radiator but recommendation that one of first mods to do is get better and larger oil cooler.... On side note both WRX and EVO are both great machine but just because 4-door AWD sedan doesn't make them same. PEACE

The biggest question for me is, which car can be tuned to have much higher maximum figures and.. or in other words, which has better "upgradability".

Also, from what I have seen in some STi pics, it seems as though there is no FMIC... is it still in that "inter-warmer" spot?

So unfair to call it an interwarmer... The deep core and the ram scoop of the Rex/STi is great little feature. Very little pressure drop due to the proximity and length of all the piping to. http://www.rallispec.com/ <---great site for all the Subie fans... Gotta love complete and engine and transmission upgrades. Still can't get over all the dueling of cars that don't exist in their US form yet.

Yes, but you do realize that it is not in the BEST place to put it though in the first place. While I realize that it is a great intercooler, you do have to take into consideration that it is right above the engine.... which I think would be quite hot. That heat around the engine bay is going to affect some performance.

What I was getting at with this comment though was that since the intercooler is placed above the engine, there would be a loss in power compared to if it were put in the front. Therefore, with a FMIC, I take it that the STi would have a bit more power than stock, and possibly over that of the EVO's.

Each and everyday, I feel as though I am getting closer and closer to the STi side of things. Then again, we'll wait and see what comes about

No really check it out in the new car and driver. I think the estimate spec is like mid 12.4's in the quarter and with .27 drag coeff you could only imagine the top speed.

Yeah it weighs 3900lbs but remmeber the SL55 has the same engine and weighs 4310Lbs and do the quarter in 12.55@116.10 mph 0-60 4.39secs.

Now imagine with 3900Lbs. Low 12's?

not really. If you go to the quarter mile strip and you see a rwd and an awd car, where the awd beats the rwd with something like 104 mph at 12.9 and the rwd at 99 mph at 12.7...wouldnt' you wonder what would happen in the next 15 mph?

I would rather define "faster" as how a car would perform on a track with turns and such. Just my opinion, but being fast down the drag strip doesn't mean crap to me.
