Looking for evo 8/9 for 14k possible?
Look up North. Here in MN I see EVO 8's with light mods, and decent body shape going for 14k esp before winter. Unfortunately, if your looking for a budget EVO purchase, you will have to ride it like a gray horse, and expect to resurrect many of the parts in the suspension and drivetrain. Its not a leisure task taking an EVO back from the dark side, but if you can invest smart money into one that runs decent as is, you may be glad you put in the work a year or two down the road.
Tyler, Take a look at this bad boy:

Definitely looks like a gem from the ad.
Also...be wary on buying a fixer upper, been there done that with my first supra, it's way easier to just buy it done and spend a little extra money to avoid stupid headaches.

But still, honestly, in this day and age with the quality of Japanese built vehicles, 100k isn't really high mileage anymore. Heck, 150k to 200k isn't even high mileage. You're really just breaking them in by that point. Compared to how long they are capable and designed to last. Surely it does all depend on how the owner takes care of his/her investment. But for the most part, Evo owners take care of their rides due to the cost of ownership and the reward they get when maintenance and modding is done right.
Like a bunch of the previous posts say, be careful in selection with any car, high or low miles, stock or not. I bought my second Evo with 117k on it, a cracked front bumper, and some upgrades done the wrong way by the wrong type of installer. Still paid 15k for the car 14 months ago. Our cars don't usually go by the standard "book" value. Tyler, you can find an 8 or 9 in your price range, but it will have over 100k, like I said that isn't a bad thing, and it may not be a cherry cosmetically. But with that budget you will have to sacrifice a little bit. And be prepared for maintenance costs and unexpected things right after you buy it. Seems to always happen that way. Good luck to you.

millage is not always the main thing you should worry about cuz there can be a evo with 110K and its good no issues and there can be a evo with 79k that has been beat to death so ur gonna chhose the one with 79k cuz of the millage when i reality the one with 110k was in better shape

Well said sir, well said indeed. People get too hung up on numbers far too often.
But it's not like that's always the case... not every high mileage Evo has been perfectly maintained, and not every lower mileage Evo has been neglected. But there's a greater likelihood of there being something wrong with a higher mileage example, generally speaking.

Not a chance of finding a 9 for 14k. 16 -17 is a maybe. If you do find a 9 for 14 you better plan to drop at least a few thousand into it just for tires, fluids, a trusted evo shop to look it over etc. I wish you luck but 14 is not going to do it.
