Looking for evo 8/9 for 14k possible?
There is a BBY 03 in Missouri with only 53k miles asking around 15OBO. Check it out on the "cars for sale" section. I do believe that people on here are getting really greedy with these cars. Some IXs are going for almost $30k, which is what they were bought new 7 years ago.. SMH
You will need to budget at least 20k for an Evo that is not a complete basket case and/or has 200k miles on the odo. More money upfront equals less pain to your wallet and brain later.
Is it greedy to ask $30 for a IX in good condition? Maybe....but then again so is charging $100 for a pair of designer jeans that costed $5.00 to manufacture. Its just a matter of economics.

year old thread, but, i just got my 03 with 130k beat to death for 10k. no dents/rust good paint etc. i then spent another 2k fixing every thing . now i know exactly what i have though.
I got my 5th SE with 24kmiles for 21k... The brembos are flawless btw.... Keep looking but you will have to take your time....Supply is running low but some people who are really picky and **** about maintence will eventually decide to sell theirs, just be ready with cash but I think 23-25 for a good example is about right
FWIW, I've lived all over the country, and bought cars form all over the country. Where a car has lived its whole life will, for ME personally, have an affect on value. And I mean in the thousands of dollars easily.
If you are from the north, and never seen a car that's lived 20-30 years of it's life in the desert, you wouldn't understand the difference. Same from someone from Texas who's never seen a 7 year old Pennsylvania car. It is so, so, so, so different.

What about a Northern car that has never seen salt or snow, spending its winters hibernating in a climate controlled garage?
But, yeah, if you find a 1 owner car, can verify it was treated that way, it's probably no worse off than a desert car. I don't think many of those cars exist though
