Actually, i did focus on my exhaust initially. I have/had a HFC and HKS Carbon-Ti. I did a lot of research and thought the best solution, given $ constraints and desire to keep it 3in, to cut off the old HKS muffler and got a big-a$$ oval maganflow welded on.

Well, the exhaust sound didnt change a bit (maybe a tad quieter), (looks stock with the flat black tip though) still pretty quiet on the street/idle and gets louder when you accelerate or on the highway. Basically all the noise is coming from the motor. I think everyone is right its just moving more air (of course a APS CAI does not help).

Yeah it did,, I went with the Cosworth 272s. loopy and screamed a little more on top,, of course more air being breathed and exhausted

I went from s1's to r2's and the car is just as loud as before only difference was a slight change in cold smoothness. No sound change what so ever. Of course my car sounds like a corolla at idle then at 4k up it gets high pitched loud, internal gated. My exhaust is a AMS with the rear muffler changed to the biggest 3inch varex offers.
