The evo is a sausage magnet no matter what year. The evo ix just attracts a much younger crowd (on average from what I seen IRL). Most chicks I know think the evo ix looks hideous. Most likely because they do not know what it is and just think civic. You may not care but it is something I would consider if it were me. If you want to impress your "COD peeps" and not be a "n00b" on internet forums the ix will get the job done. Get the x if you like newer vehicles with a better interior and ride quality. Get what makes you happy but those factors I would consider when living everyday with a vehicle.

Now where did I put my flame suit...
No doubt it is a car for the younger crowd…
If your gonna go jap High performance… (extremely over the roof, high performance) and attract slightly older crowds… then that would be the R35 GT-R. because generally speaking, younger crowds have less funds.

Chicks, impress…. etc…

I'm married anyways.. Chicks…well….is what would make me lose half my house & assets thats for sure.

When i purchased this car, i wanted something that was decent in speed. Good handling for the once in a while…circuit track.. (and the EVO performs so well in that department)
Not compromising if i was to use it as a day-day with fuel economy and ride quality. And looking good also, The EVO IX looks dated compared to the X but imo as well as others, think the IX looks a lot meaner.
Doesn't mean an old car doesn't look good….take the EVO IV and R34 GT-R for e.g… they're pretty 1999 - 2000's.. and to be honest… id prefer the look of those cars than the likes of 2014 High performance vehicles like the mustang, corvette or even C63 AMG.

The seats in the IX are very comfortable despite what I've heard. But the only miserable feeling in stop-start traffic is the off-boost or lag-feel from 1,500rpm - 3,000rpm.
(the mazda 121 1996 1.3L seems to feel much better at that rev range.)
but I'm hoping a tune, aftermarket o2, Intake & exhaust should at least improve the off boost areas.

But yeah, like i mentioned… it was just a thought in the back of my head that maybe i should've purchased a newer model. but it seems that majority of the people here favour the IX.
