im so pissed. i was leaving work going to my 2nd job. and passed a state trooper underneath a bridge. he pulled out and floored it to catch up with me and got right behind me. i knew he was going to pull me over, but i figured it would be for having no front licens plate. after i pull over he walks up to my car and i have my drivers license ready for him. before he even asked for my license he literally yelled "why do you have those blue headlights!!!!!!" i was shocked i didnt even know what to say, i told him they were hid's then he yelled "yea so who put them in!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!". i told him mitsubishi did in japan where the car was built, there OEM there stock. he glared at me and yelled "well see about that!!!" and went back to his car.
after waiting for 15 min he came back and told me he is going to call mitsu and ask if the evos come with the "blue headlights", and that i better be telling him the truth or hed be looking for me.
he ended up giving me a $100 ticket for no front license plate, which is fine ill take responsibility for that, but he was such a dick....not to mention a dumb ***.
he also made me rev the car to make sure i didnt have a "diferent pipe" on the car.
oh well just had to vent.

I never have any problems with the police. I think some of you must drive like *******s and get upset when you get pulled over.

Guilty of the former, not of the latter. Attitude plays a huge role in how an officer acts. I've gotten my share of ******** cops (usually the ones blatantly fundraising), but more often than not, they're decent, as long as you don't give them an attitude. The time to be pissed off is after, not during the stop.

This is ridiculous. Ok, I know some cops act like dicks just cos they can, but most times, I'm not inclined to blame the cops.
I think the whole emphasis of traffic law needs to change. Instead of focusing on "modifications", the damn politicians should be pressured by us motoring enthusiasts to focus on some of the real issues on the road.
When traffic laws prohibit mods to a car, every cop will be out looking for cars with ostentatious wings or headlights, even if they're stock. Every car with a loud exhaust or BOV will be targeted, and this is so unfair because a stock Harley is ridiculously loud and is never pulled over despite it.
The best thing is to de-emphasise the whole mod issue in traffic law. If mods are not against the law, then cops will lose interest in harassing nice looking cars (unless they're driving like *******s, in which case, I fully support the officer). Recognising modifications as legal is a political job, there's no use in getting angry with the traffic police who are only enforcing bad laws.
There are other areas of traffic law that are in dire need of improvement. The requirement for a slavish obedience to posted limits is ridiculous when there are so many bad drivers driving dangerously in their SUVs well below the limit.
I think it's more important to make sure people are better drivers before they get their licences. Advanced and race driving courses should perhaps be made mandatory and subsidised by the authorities. The testing can be made accordingly stricter. That should go a ways to making the roads safer. Not just some blind obedience to an arbitrary and often artificially low speed limit.
Certain traffic laws I support a 100 % e.g. the anti- DUI laws. It's just some other areas that need a little compromise and revision.
So petition your local politician today with thousands of signatures from car enthusiasts. Then maybe they'll listen and change the law, and we have to ***** less about getting pulled over for ridiculous reasons.
