EVO IX injectors upgrade

Hi Guys,

Hope you are all well.

As you may know I've run into issues with an O2 housing.

So I'm going to order another brand.

To maximise on postage, I'm thinking of buying something else that small in postage size.

I have always thought about Injectors,

I believe the OEM are 560cc. And i see ones for sale 600cc, 800cc and 1000cc.

It appears that the 800cc vs 1000cc, pricing is very similar.

My car has pretty much;Full bolt ons (when the o2 dump has been sorted)
Including Walbro 255.

Apparently, I've been told. Even with a stock motor, turbo etc. larger injectors can give tuners more leverage and headroom to have the engine slightly more power.

Currently i have the boost at 20psi but is looking to run max safe boost of 24PSI when tuned.

I was under the impression that 1000cc will be too big.. but at the same time id like something 1.)to work with stock engine but have the capacity to be a 2.)foundation for future mods like larger turbo and Camshafts.

any suggestions?

Also, would it be useless to buy, say… 1000cc injectors but not replace the fuel rail or regulator?

Thanks in advance.

1200cc at a minimum which will be good for 500whp on e85, if you want more power than that I would only consider 2150cc. You don't need to change the fuel rail.

Hi Guys,

thanks for your prompt responses.

I don't wish to run E85. I've contemplated but I've decided to stick to 98RON (93 Octane in US)

So it appears 1000cc is a good all rounder?…

Now, the fuel rail isn't required, how about fuel regulator? the OEM one isn't adjustable.

Also, are there any decent injectors that are a straight swap, or do they all require separate adaptors ?

Looks like ill be buying from the US again, The japanese manufacturers don't seem to sell many 1000cc.

Never say never. Plan to get a 93 octane tune and a E85 tune. Get injectors capable of E85 and just run pump when you're daily driving and look to run E85 if you wish to do any racing and want to really see what your future setup can do. I do see you're in Australia so idk what the availability of ethanol there is but if it's readily available then I'd plan for dual setup.

1000's seem the way to go. I was running 1000cc FIC low impedience so they were a direct swap, all i had to do was dial in the injectors and the fuel trims on my rom. Came with o-rings and everything so I don't think it's anything special. Pretty much direct plug and play. And as far as the FPR I'm pretty sure the ecu controlls fuel pressure but don't quote me because i'm not 100% sure lol

Only need FPR if you are running a rewired fuel pump and making big power. If you are not switching turbos anytime soon just stick with OEM injectors and upgrade the fuel pump.

I realise E85 gives you significant power increase.

The closest gas station for me is about 13 miles…

the fact it cheap but more frequent fill-ups… is inconvenient for me.

and I'm not fond of it being slightly corrosive to the seals, engine and exhaust etc.

Im content with 98 Ron at this stage.

A lot low impedience are plug and play. But you can do is like NSDQ says tune your car E85 and 98. Then use 98 for daily driving and E85 if you want for the track. But if that is the case you have to go with 1200 cc at least. ID injectors are good but expensive at the same time.

Injector dynamics advertise an adaptor …

PNP adaptor?
