Service engine soon light
Service engine soon light
Here's my setup, I have a 2006 EVO IX with the following, head has Kelford 280's spring & retainers, a Magnus intake, ID 2000, high flow fuel rail, I have a 4G64 Destroked 2.1 with 10:5.1 compression GRP rods, twin AEM E85 fuel pumps, PTE6766BB Turbo at 31PSI, AEM series 2 & it runs on E85.
My question is as my car passes 7000RPM on WOT the "Service engine soon" light comes on & was wonder why that happens?

Mil flashing for OBD II cars indicates misfire. If your car was tuned to flash knock count, that would be the second reason. You did not say if the MIL flashes..or if you had a DTC.

Also he is on AEM though. Posting this in the AEM tuning section would net you better results as almost all of us run oem ecu. A check engine light coming on but only at high RPM would make me think the AEM is using the light as a "shift" light to indicate when to shift so you don't have to watch your RPM's. Also as stated above could be engine knock but I would expect the light to flash if that was the case.
