I was building a mint condish 1990 eagle talon all buschur built talon. my barn got broken into and everything was stolen except for the motor and trans. I ended up selling the car and motor and buying an evo. I always wanted one, and now its fully built. It took me 2 years but I love it. next car will be a z06!

so for me it wasnt power it was boost. but hold on; in upstate ny and with my life clock winding down i thought it might be time for another subaru, maybe a wrx something 4wd. i bought a bugeye for a song. burnt exhaust valve. pulled the motor repaired, retuned. not bad but not nearly scary enough. in the meanwhile i was tuning a 04 sti for a local doctor and it was a max checkbook effort. wicked. i thought "i gotta get an evo" so thats what i did. 03 with a aluminum ix hood and fenders. atp gt30 v2, injectors blah blah but most importantly zero rust. i promptly wasted all the intake valves which i then debugged the whole car. long story short. i have no desire to buy another car. all season , big power, flat sexy. no reason to leave. i love my evo

GN With an Evo? Love it!

Bought my first evo in 2005. I bought a house and got married so I thought I needed a truck. Traded the evo for a 2004 duramax and drove it till it was paid off. Once it was paid for, I decided to get another evo. My wife and kids were very convincing because they missed it as much as I did. I will be keeping this car for a long time. I still remember how sad I was when I got rid of my first evo.

Man, you have a cool wife... The women I have had in my life hate the Evo.

"It rides too rough"

"It's too loud"

"It's a boy racer car"

Pisses me off.

Didn't think women like that existed... They sure as hell don't here in the panhandle of Nebraska.

I can say for certain I'll be a lifer. Been on these forums since 07, I'm going to be 22 next week... Went from a 2003 Ford Taurus, to a 2005 SRT-4, then to a 1999 GMC Safari (The Bang bus ), had a 02 Subaru Wagon and now finally my 2005 WW Evo GSR. I'll drive this thing until it dies, revive it and repeat until the end of eternity.

Mike

I came from a bunch Foxbodys, then an 03 Cobra, then sold it for the Evo, huge mistake. Evo was my least favorite car I've owned yet. It was so expensive and unreliable it was never fun, just a pocket/time drainer. Just sold the Evo and got into E30s and couldn't be happier about that decision.

To which I say...Rides too rough? So do you when you're on top. Oh it's too loud? Sorry, can't hear your *****ing over the exhaust and BOV. It's a boy racer car? Uh please, have you seen how much it costs to build these but the great amount of power and speed you can extract from the engine on these? A "boy" can't afford that sister.

I've literally only had like maybe 5 people total ride in my Evo since I've had it. It's my toy and no woman is going to influence what I do with it.

I just went TRE 1.5-Way and one thing... some people say you can only tell when you're ***** the wall... it's not true... there are some slippery roads around here where my car would understeer at decidely non-BTTW speeds and even though I cannot get on the power hard (I just passed 400 miles on break-in) I can tell the car is completely different. I could never power-slide (drift) the Evo as well as the WRX and I thought it was due to the insane grip but I think that won't be the case when I get round to testing it after break-in. Only 1600 miles to go.

Yup. I restacked my diff and can now "drift" any turn I want at autox by simply giving it a bit more gas. It's a blast, having that option. I can now get on the gas much, much sooner at any event I do.
