greddy boost controller, help needed!

i have a greddy profec b 2 boost controller installed in my car since 4 years, it never really gave any trouble but last night when i took my car out for a tuning session to get some data logs it would go way past the 1.2 bar limit i had set. like the boost controller couldnt control the boost and it went upto 1.9 bar and i had to let off the throttle.

so what could be wrong here, what could cause the boost controller to not hold boost at the desired setting?

another thing i must add is that, the mechanic was cleaning the enging bay and he sprayed diesel on it, and some obviously went on the boost solenoid too, could that be a reason for not working properly?

and one last thing, there is a port on the boost solenoid, two sides are fitted with vacume lines and this one is just left there, is it supposed be to closed off with something or left open?

what gear was this log in? 5th gear on stock evo ecu fluctuates boost for some reason, as far as the solenoid goes, yes that port is vented into the atmosphere, and no you should not block it, this is how pressure is bled front the wastegate (therefore increasing boost) infact, if there is crap in there, it can make your boost spike, this port is usually vented back into the intake pipe and there is a slight reduction in spool time with this, but with aftermarket intakes, sometimes there is no port for this, so it is just left like that and vents in the atmosphere.

If you want, you can route the open port to the small nipple on your air intake, after the MAF (if you have it). I do so, just to keep junk out of the port, since its it's important.

If anything was sprayed on the solenoid, that could have caused your problem, I guess.
Diesel? Are you sure?

i just found out from the mechanic that, while tightening the nozzle to the waste gate, the one which is on the side not top (tial wastegate) he slipped the threads and forcefully tightened the nozzle.

now will that cause leaks and cause the wastegate not to open and release turbo pressure?

is that the one that opens and closes the diafram inside the wastegate? can this be the problem?

yes diesel, over here they coat everything in diesel to protect it from rust and just to clean the engine bay. i just hope its the solenoid and its the vacume nozzle that is on the side of the waste gate.

and thanks for your help, i have other threads aswell and you have always tried to help, i really appreciate it. not many people take time out and try to help others. thanks again.

Not a problem. We've all been there.

The port on the side is under the diaphragm? I'm trying to remember, it's been yeeears since I've used an EWG.
I think it sees pressure from the turbo. I've also seen boost solenoid run two different ways.
Any pictures of your vacuum line layout?
It's late and I'm having trouble remembering how mine was LOL

im very bad with uploading pictures because of the resize thing, i will upload a video today so you can see my setup and maybe point out whats wrong because im starting to belive maybe there is something also wrong with my vacume layout.

before this i had a gt3586 turbo, now its a pt6266 turbo, and i have never run the car on this turbo before so maybe the vacume line layout was diffrent for that turbo and its diffrent for this?

90% of the time I've had problems with boost controllers not working right, it's been vacuum lines. I would start there.

The boost source should not come off the intake manifold. Your boost controller will work better if it has a boost source as close as possible to the turbo. Some turbos have these on the cover. If not its pretty easy to drill a hole and install a barb fitting in the intercooler piping.
