hello fellow members. i am curious if anyone else gets alot of compliments from random people at traffic lights about your cars like i do constantly?

 

and then do you give respect for fellow car enthusiasts regardless of what they are driving because we all share the same passion

 

Yes I do I also owned a 06 wrx at one point and a built 05 sti I still give the 2 finger Subaru wave throws them off sometimes coming from an evo owner other times they toss me one back lol

Funny Fed Ex truck next to me at a light the other days yells out the truck. "Nice F'ng Car Man"

Other than that nobody ever really pays it a single bit of attention which I prefer!!

 

Got stopped twice by cops for not having a front license plate and both cops gave me compliments.

 

When your pulling into a parking lot and you see that little 5 year old kid break his kneck.

 

I actually had someone pay for my lunch at a Drive-Thru at a Wendy's because of my evo. Person at the window said "the guy for you up front paid for you and said your car is awesome".

I give the subie wave too haha. Fixed and driven so many GC8's and GD's I feel like I'm part of that club sometimes. Not alot of pre X Evos in my city so we're pretty tightnit.

 

They respect the lopy cams

 

Just yesterday I got a compliment at a light. I sped through a tunnel and a guy in a truck told me it sounded awesome when we got to the next stop. Funniest one Ive heard is when i was sitting parked with the window down and a little kid walks by and said "mommy look, race car!!"

So whats the origin/significance of the subaru wave?

 

I get puzzled looks. Mainly I feel it's folks trying to figure out why a small gray sedan is so loud and why it has big red brembo brake calipers. I always catch people staring at the front wheel area (all stock). Basically trying to figure out what the heck kinda car it is. The other folks, who are enthusiasts, I can tell appreciate an evo. 06 and below evos aren't too common around here. Then there is the trolling camaro / mustang community (who wreck their cars frequently).
