If you're broke, leave it alone.

launch sparingly lol. Wheel hop is the death of the spider gears of the stock front open diff. Tires and brakes are 2 things you should never skimp on. Start a maintenance fund and make sure you do all the scheduled maintenance, otherwise it will cost you much much more if you don't.

I second this. Just be sure to keep up with maintenance and you'll be fine.

The front differential is inside the tcase. If you launch car wrong, it can cause quite a bit of damage if it explodes. If you're lucky it'll just break and not take out anything else. There is also the factor that a bad launch can hurt the ring and pinion gears of the tcase.

Yup. If you're truly broke, it is not a good idea to do anything more than maintenance items. Piecing together $200-$500 at a time to do mods and get it tuned is cool, until all of this causes premature failure of a larger component you can't afford, leaving the car parked for 3 months. Like a clutch that was already kind of on it last leg, then turning up the power makes it slip, and you just blew your wad on parts/tune. So now the car sits because you don't have $1800 to replace the clutch..
