New IACV, now engine RPM too high
I was dealing with an issue where my 2003 VIII was dying at idle, without direct intervention. I pulled the throttle body to see if there were any blockages in idle air bypass ports and didn't see anything. Research showed that the Idle Air Control Valve might be bad (mine was factory 199,650 miles). Local auto parts wanted about $300 for the thing, Ebay had one it said was a replacement for $20 shipped (Isumo GET7610-304, OEM MD628318), so I figured I'd at least start there.
I just swapped the parts, and the car lit up with no fuss. But, I quickly saw that the RPM's were 1000k too high. Letting the clutch out in gear and the RPM's drop towards normal and it drives normally. Clutch in, and it bobs between, 1k and 2k, RPM, drops to 1k and climbs back up to 2k to stay there.
Does the idle RPM need to be reset, or is this part just not right for my Evo? Please help!

Did you clean the black "gunk" from the inside of the throttle body? The stuff on the inside of the butterfly?
have you adjusted the BISS?
how long did you let the car idle after install?
I have had better luck with junk yard IACVs than new, non-oem ones. Where did you get yours?
