what wing do you have? 8 or 9 cause they are different....if you have the wing off the car already you should disassemble the wing and take the pieces in to a good shop as there shouldn't be an issues sanding and re clearing....

It's a 9 wing. I don't really want to attempt to sand myself since I don't want to damage the carbon fiber. Shops are fine with just clearing but won't know the outcome of the clear and adhesion so they won't warranty anything if it doesn't stick or fail. Also shops don't want to sand it since they think they can damage the carbon fiber itself....

Just finished up another this weekend. 5 coats of rattle can 2k, some sanding, she looks brand new. Total cost, maybe $15 with sand paper.

Edit: Actually I used some off the shelf Valspar on this one, worked awesome.

How do you deal with the crevasses that's between the corners each cf square that have a small dip? Did you have to sand some of the cf off to reach those small points or do you not worry about those?

Realized I never replied to this.

The easiest way to remove the clear-coat is a razor blade. Just use it to chip off all the old stuff, sand what you can't get with the blade.

I have never had an issue with the "dip" of the CF so to speak.

I ended up sanding and resparying. So basically I wet sanded until I started seeing black and did that all around. After resparying I noticed the area between edges(basically the corners) of the carbon fiber squares looked off, like it wasnt even after the spray so I to sand to even everything out. I should've left it as is because it was really hard to notice and only detailers would notice if they had a good angle with a light. Doing so I was stupid and didn't wet sand which after research clogged the sand paper and was actually putting in some deep scratches. After sanding and wet sanding before I knew the cause the damage was done so I need to reclear again because some spots I sanded through the clear again >.<

So at this point I know what to do this time and was a good learning experience.

Wet sand untill the clear coat is gone. Clean the surface with water making sure there's no residue. I opt for an OEM clear coat with the activation ( clear + activation) mix it and spray with gun. I have 2003 and I had did the can clear coat last about a year. This one is a lot better and definitly look oem. First time painting and it look great. You can do it just has to be patience. It took me 2 day of wet sand b/c i'm a little lazy
