Idle surge, lean reading (22) near 1k, map issue?
I’m trying to figure this out my evo 8 is surging idle, reading lean. I’ve smoked the intake nothing was leaking, I’ve pressure checked intake system and couldn’t find a leak. When I had it running yesterday I pulled maf and the car would stall so that checked fine I did the same with the map and this time it didn’t change the way the car ran wether it was plugged in or not. Debating this is a issue. I have no codes.
Is is there a test to actually test the map sensor. It’s a oem one.

Did you check your IAC?

No because I don’t belive it’s the Iacv since my fuel trims read lean and the idle it surging, a iacv would just cause surging idle but no cause it to lean. This is either a vaccume leak as I stated I found none or possibly the map as it makes no different how the car runs with it plugged in or unplugged

If i was slowing down/ costing to a stop in neutral, my idle would surge and my AFR would go lean.
Its easy to check your IAC, i suggest still taking a look. It could probably use a cleaning either way.

Your google drive link doesn't really work. need "permission" to view.
You can try cleaning it with brake clean. Otherwise... save yourself the headache of dealing with it again in the future and just spend the $$$. https://www.maperformance.com/produc...caAqymEALw_wcB

Darn it won’t upload the video on here, it buzzes but doesn’t actuate. I seen a list of other vehicles that share a iacv thought about going through junk yard. Would rather not spend a lot and it not be my issue if that makes sense. It isn’t actuating meaning it will cause a issue but idk if it’s the issue mine is having.

I can't see your video, but i assume you pulled out the IAC and it looks okay visual, and not worn like the one show in my other thread? (https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ev...lets-talk.html)

Mine has the external spring, it’s covered in carbon. It isn’t fried just the plunger is stuck, hoping I’m able to clean it and get it free. I’ll prob take it off and soak the plunger to work it free and see if I’m able to save it
