I’ve just started drag racing my car again and haven’t recently been to 2 meets in the last few months. The car runs 6.6x on the 1/8 mile on Hoosier QTP, cutting around 1.5x 60fts.

The reason for this thread is, I’ve been told by bystanders that my rear wheels usually look weird compared to the front, like not spinning as fast, and this even be seen in the attached pictures. Is this normal behavior? It’s a JDM Evo 8 so I still have ACD / AYC etc. The t-case is a Jacks Transmission Stage 2 and the rear diff is still stock.

 

You may benefit from an ACD tune. But you can't run the car locked. They do actually leave better allowing the fronts to spin a bit.

 

Yeh actually have no complaints with the performance as it runs like a champ, just looks weird on the outside lol. I haven’t even gone lower than 15psi in the slicks yet. Hoping to try 14psi to get my 60s down to 1.4 next time.

 

We run 10-12 depending on track conditions. Usually upper 1.4 60'.

Thanks. I’ve heard about the ACD reflashing but wasn’t sure if it was limited to the USDM Evos.

 

This does not apply to TS as he have a JDM EVO VIII with S-AYC rear differential
