2006 Evo Values
I was the original owner
It was in good condition (not perfect) when I first sold it on BAT, but certainly not as pristine as it's being presented. I was surprised to see the cosmetic/stylistic changes, but even more surprised that he took off the performance mods. It had high-quality turbo-back WORKS components with the Fujitsubo RM-01A and a tune by KevinD in Houston. It's possible that the 2nd owner did some of the removal though (perhaps dealer reflashed the tune and it didn't run well with the mods?).
I do wonder from time-to-time whether or not I should have sold it. In the end, I'd had it for over 13 years, 72K miles and was ready for something different.
I didn't want to be a jerk and make comments on that guy's auction, but if anyone here is seriously considering bidding I can provide more background about the first 72k miles in the car's life.
Although not my style, it's nice to see someone else taking care of the old girl

Ok, I put my comments back up. I tend to be gun-shy about posting on the Internet these days... I will say that one thing I still miss about selling the Evo was spending lots of time reading this forum!

Very helpful post and if I were the buyer id want to speak with you about the car. It over all looks to be in great condition. What do you mean by "not as pristine" as its being presented. The things that normally wear with time, paint, weather stripping, plastics, seat bolsters steering wheel, look to be in very good condition with all matching vins..the zinc plating is still even on the sway bar mounts..
Yes, it was a nice car that received a lot of love during my ownership. It was garaged its entire life when I owned it, which is why everything looks good. Waxed every year or so, never smoked in (I don't smoke), kept very clean.
Definitely not "stock" (which was a strange seller description given the suspension and wheel changes, fender shaving, etc.). I had a downpipe, hi-flow cat, exhaust, ETS lower intercooler pipe, GM 3-port boost controller and tune.
I did a lot of interior stuff that I reverted to stock when selling. I had the Orbital 2-din set-up (any of you guys remember that???), had some "cool" A-pillar gauges, and for a while had an under-seat amp and subwoofer. This was all removed and original components retro-fitted when I sold it. The A-pillar tweeters are gone -- I hacked-up the originals trying to make a mount for the new tweeters I'd purchased (which didn't work).
The Ralliart front lip is a real work of art that I hand-carried over from Japan. When my wife backed out of the garage one day, she caught the lip and it bent the fender. If you look closely, the lip was damaged with crackling in the clearcoat. I included the original red lip when I sold the car - not sure if the 3rd owner still has it or not. I also replaced the right fender with an OEM one I bought and painted but it never fit quite as well as the original one (someone more skilled could probably get it perfect). The bumper was also a bit bent, but I never got around to painting a new one. I did buy a new one though, and also included it with my original sale.
See those three "dots" on the front bumper? I asked the selling dealer not to install a front license plate, but they did anyway. I painted 3 plugs with a paint repair kit and popped those in!
There's some "wavyness" on the side doors -- I had kids and despite my constant reminders they managed to "bump" my Evo every once in a while with the doors. It was never bad enough to scratch them, but being aluminum the doors deformed slightly over time.
One of the rims had a huge ding where I hit a curb during early ownership. It didn't seem to have an impact on function so I never fixed it -- I'm sure there's a photo of it in my 2019 BAT sale. Maybe 2nd/3rd owner fixed it -- the ad mentioned "no curb rash".
I was surprised to see the Evo only gain ~ 3K miles between the time I sold it (2019) and now. It kind-of felt like the buyer didn't know what he was getting (maybe it was for his son?)
That's what I can remember off the top of my head. Hopefully it helps some of you make a buying decision -- I'd love to see it back on this forum with someone who knows Evos!

I think posts like yours are important. I see when MKIV Supras are posted on BAT, old owners and forum members all come and give opinion. It isn't about trashing auctions or pumping auctions. I think its about having the transparency and information.
I know when I searched for my EVO - I came and found many of those cars here... in an internet age, history of the car is important.
Appreciate your input.

I have put 4500 miles on my EVO in 4.5 months. Maybe the old owner bought it as a collector and thus put low miles
When I was lookign, I only wanted white/red. Couldnt find it. Got stuck with an ugly gray. Its mint, but still ugly.
Also "ugly grey?" I LOVE graphite grey, more than white personally. Its my top three in this order. Rally red, Tarmac black (only when detailed black could look like a nightmare if its scuffed) and Graphite grey, then white. I think most people don't know how to compliment it with accents. Needs alot of black accents imo. It reminds me of the eleanor gt500 grey.
its better than blue
It's weird...when I was Evo shopping, I only wanted Silver, Grey or White because I wanted a more understated Evo. When the Evo first came out I loved the looks, but eventually felt it was too ostentatious, hence the boring colors.
Present tense, i've come full circle on it. Wish I had Red, Blue or even (eek!) Yellow lol. I barely drive my car as is, so i'm not as worried about flying under the radar. That and I left SoCal so not as paranoid.
Always great to hear from the previous owners, especially original owners, RedAustinIX. Thanks for stopping by!
Some of the reason I hang out on BaT is to hear stuff like that or learn something new.

I am cursed with white but I orginally wanted blue. Now if I can buy a Mercury gray or Apex Silver Evo X then that would be the best. We need to see more side by side color comparisons with those colors.
Photoshoot idea : A landscape picture of Two Evo Xs facing each other. One is Mercury Gray and the other is Apex Silver.
