Wow that black SE only bid to $67,500 which seems very low. Maybe the market is softening..

Let’s just say the original owner didn’t know what he had and what he sold it for was way too low.

For anyone looking: find a private buyer. BaT is not a metric for judging car values. The guy that bought my IX paid less than $25k and got all the extra parts he could carry. Seems to be the going rate of what these cars are actually selling for (when you talk one-on-one with the buyers, afterward).

How is it not? There are evos of all walks of life on BaT. High mile, low mile. Rusted, to perfect. The final prices are real and so are the bidders. I don't think there is any better metric to show the value of a car than BaT and auction sites like it actually. Private sellers may ask higher than, or lower than market value. YOU decided to let your evo go for 25k and that's fine, but when we are talking about max value. Fact is most private sellers just don't know how to sell a car very well and end up settling for much less than they could get. That's why BaT exists. It offers a platform to connect serious cash buyers and sellers with the ability to post many detailed pics, videos, description and realistic reserves and answer any questions in real time. If anything private sales don't reflect the real cash value of any car, BaT is more accurate.

No disrespect, but yours was a hard sale imo. Pristine and stock low mileage Evo's are in a whole different ballpark concerning value/demand.

The rare, pristine Evo is not what anyone is typically going to find for sale. One with a brand new drivetrain is also hard to find. Even still BaT has wonky stuff going on with it and everyone knows it.

And that is exactly why they fetch a high premium when they do hit the market. I would argue that a significant portion of potential buyers are looking for the best condition, closest to stock example they can find as well.

Or, like in the older gtr's buyers will pay premium for evos with rare, period correct modifications. Arc, greddy, hks, ralliart, tomei ect..evos with these mods/all Japanese spec will be worth peak value. It's not something people who track or drag their evos in America are into but in the uk, euro and basically rest of the world these mods are treasured. Let's be honest. Tuner cars started and were always about the mods. Who cares about them in stock form.

I don't remember ever claiming They didn't, but I suppose that could have come across in one of my posts.
But I will argue your point about potential buyers... Yes, they all are looking for cars in the best condition, closest to stock example they can find as well..... For $15,000 lol

You didn't claim that but any time an evo sells for over $28k you insist that it is an outlier, not indicative of the market, evos are not worth that much etc etc. The average sell price for a clean evo 9 under 80k miles has been well into the $30k+ territory for several years now. Literally nobody in the evo market is seriously offering or selling an evo for $15k lol.

Not quite. Mine sold for almost that. I get you are exaggerating to make a point, though.
I spent 18 years researching actual sales prices of evos, Not what you see online and for sale posts.
I spoke to the actual sellers and found actual sold prices. Not what you see online.
I'm not speaking in anecdotes. I actually did the research before selling mine.
The outliers are the rare, occasional cars that sell for more then they're worth, due to very specific situations. I mean, that's actually the definition of an outlier, but you get the idea lol
