Yea, prices are driven by the buyers demand for these cars. If someone really wants it, and its in decent condition it will fetch for a decent price 25k plus it seems. The white evo that just sold on BAT isnt the cleanest, but it has minimal rust, which is a rare find.

The prices will always fluctuate, but it seems to be an uptrend fluctuation as the supply of these car in good running condition is fairly rare.

Just my 2 cents.

I was able to purchase my evo 9 with 158k miles for 17k (Engine compression was not on point - rebuild needed in near future). The car is still running 2 years later, no rebuild done as yet. I felt like I didn't get the best deal, but I really wanted the car since it had minimal rust.

For a second I thought you were me lol I bought my Evo 9 for $17,000, about 8 or 9 years ago. It had 135,000 mi on it. Low compression in a cylinder and the clutch was bad.
Overpaid But worth it in the end. I had that car almost 10 years.
Drove the car for 4 years with the low compression. Never gave me a problem. Send it!

Lol wow thats amazing. I have only been driving my car on weekends and I have not pushed it at all. I would like to keep this block intact, while I wait on a OEM shortblock from the dealer (hope they have in stock soon).
Funny it sounds like the same car, but my clutch is on its last leg too, but I dont press the car since I have minimal information on its history and tuning. Dont want to go race mode and lose a block

**On the current tune, sometimes the SES light flashes at WOT. So its experiencing knock, and I am no tuner. Instead of spending money on a tune now, I think waiting on the new block to do this is wiser.

Ill be sure to start a thread once I get the OEM block. I have owned a Evo 8 , and two Evo X's. But I have never had to change anything serious during my ownership. So this will definitely be a new challenge.

I tracked mine the entire time I had it. Not a problem. The only reason anything changed is because I worked at a performance shop and we thought it would be a good idea to build the engine lol . We had an oil pump failure that killed the engine. I bought an OEM short block from STM and never looked back.
Factory short blocks are the way to go. My plan was for the car to go another $135,000 mi.
Sadly, I sold it and the dude money shifted the thing....
Valves hit pistons which hit spark plugs, etc. The poor thing is now dead. I think he only got to drive it for a month or two before it died. They are super fun cars to drive. Enjoy it!

Wait.... did we all buy the same car???

Also, it would seem the value of our cars went up about $1,000, or less, per year. Horrible investment.

very bad investment if you enjoyed it like youre supposed to. these people who talk about 'pristine', low mileage schtuff are just late to the game and paying for it good to know theres apps to link these buyers/sellers

I invested in fun. By no means is this a monetary investment. I am just head over heels when its comes to Evo's. The 9 was always a dream for me to own

Yup we'll try to keep roaming, racing and/or looking good to keep the prices up for the 'garage queens' and high mileage ones as well

We are talking about sale values in this thread and what it costs to buy one now..not what you make off these cars as an investment. Nobody here said that cars make good investments.

Okay Fun Police.
I got mine in 2011 with 23k for 23k$USD...40kCAD by the time it was on the road here. We had a meet once, 9 of us! IN VANCOUVER. Was pretty rad.

Fun police? What? The fact that you got yours in 2011 for 23k usd is irrelevant. Everything was cheap back then and usd to cad was 1:1.

In no way do I try to preserve my evo but I am impressed by those who manage to have theirs on the road so long. Whenever I get the chance I drive mine too. It's by no means a garage queen and I care nothing about its value since I plan on driving it to my grave. Currently at 35k miles not for a lack of trying. Its just I have my other cars to worry about and the evo is always on a lift getting some new mods.
