Gas Tank

what's up evo fam,

I have a little issue. my fuel tank I broke the studs to the fuel pump ring. I only have 3 studs left.
I know there are couple of threads there that talks bout replacing and one actually repair it with welding the studs somewhere else.
is there any other way of fixing this? specially since you cant get a new fuel tank anymore.
all the help is appreciated it. admin please remove if not allowed.

Thanks

The couple threads you found are what you're going to need to do. Or find a good used tank.

If you're not capable of welding, find a competent shop to handle it.

you mean drill and put the rivnut on the tank?
will that no leak?
i was thinking to drill the studs tap and put a new stud in there with red loctite. Not sure if that’s a good idea or not.
thanks

I dont remember what kind of material is there. if theres enough material to tap then go for it. the rivnut is also threaded you can put a stud in and seal. if not possible, maybe just apply apply pressure on the flange somehow.

Got it buttoned up today, added rivnuts all the way around the lock ring and it sealed up nicely. Hopefully it stays that way haha.
