Evo 5 no crank. Starter clicking fast

Hello everyone, I’ve recently finished putting my Evo 5 back together and everything was good smooth until this morning. I’m having a issue where I go to start the car and all I hear is rapid fast clicking from the starter I went out and got a new start and new battery but still having the issue and was seeing if anyone would’ve able to help out guiding me in the right direction. I’ve checked all the wires, relays and fuses and everything seems fine. I’ve attached a video of the issue I’m having.

try supplying batt voltage to the starter wire, basically bypassing the ignition and fuses/relay. what does your starter relay look like? on my evo9, pin 5 of this relay is to the starter (just as an example since yours might be very different)
or just use a new wire to the starter

if it cranks fast(faster than normal) then you could have switching issues

I was just checking over and on the Evo 5 the wire goes from the ignition switch to the starter solenoid [relay] with no relays inbetween

right, so its similar. on my car that 12v supply to the relay is weak after passing thru all the old connections, ignition switch etc. thats why I rewired my relay in that pic

on ours the relay is really not a relay its just to require you to step on the clutch to start
so screw that

I see, so I just quickly disconnected the small wire that goes to the starter and wired up a wire that goes from the positive terminal to the starter solenoid but it just does the same thing and click fast rapidly

yeah. in fact i still have that extra wire near my battery terminal so I can start without going inside the car.
