I think the Evo and STi are in a class by itself.

The S4 is now in the M3 stratosphere of luxo-sport without being as obnoxious.

The Elise competes with the S2000, Boxter, Z4, and TT... and well, kicks their butts. Really the only raw handling 2 seat convertible that can compare handling wise is the Miata... but way underpowered.

The Exige is G-d's own coupe.

The next Generation Supra will be in the same league as the coming Skyline. They will cost in the $50,000 range and likely compete with the S4, M3 if not the M5, M6... the later is more likely.

The RX-7 will be in direct competition with the Nissan Z350/Infiniti G35coupe.

The real question is, which would wear the crown - the STi Spec-C or the Evo MR?

Sorry, I was basically agreeing with you. Just adding that I had done tons of research since I did a market research paper on the future RX-8 about 2 years ago for school. I agree!

what about the RS 4?? probably more expensive than the S4 but certainly it will be a rocket considering they wanna take the Rs6 as a model.

I think that's a little too pricey. Considering the S4 is almost $50 - Isn't that like $70k?

The S4 is realtively too expensive to compete with the STi or Evo... but the RS4 is way too expensive. Competing with the M3 CSL, 911, etc.

Any takers on Spec-C v. MR.

I concur with the whole spec - c vs mr. I got word from my buddy at the subby dealership they are expecting a spec - c this fall. Too bad I can't wait that long. Well this is all granted mitsubishi stays afloat...

I have to wait till fall anyway... that's when the MR is coming.

Anyone know of a direct comparison?... Since I think I'm hijacking this topic... i'll start a new one

A new STi. The new Supra will be just like the new 350Z, NO turbos and only about 275-300 hp.

RS 200 - is that going to be sold in the US? If not, it's not relative.

How is it the fastest if it tops out at 140? Acceleration I can understand, but still, thats not what they mean by fastest.

The RS200 never was a production car. It was a group B rally car for 1 year before group B was abolished. You could only get them to race.

I was going to add that. I mean it says works rally car there too. Why would ford ever mass produce a car with acceleration like that? Can you imagine how many claims they would be getting of drivetrain problems? It would be the whole firestone problemX10 . Not to mention it looks like ***.
