Fastest Acceleration By A Production Car 0-96 km/h (0-60 mph) in 3.07 sec
is NOT the fastest car. That should be the quickest car. And it's only to 60mph. I bet the Konigsegg CCR would rip it apart, or as much ripping apart as two near 3.0s cars can be.. and on up to 100mph or for a real test of acceleration to 150mph. The 806hp 1180kg CCR decimates all.
Would the Koenigsegg CCR be considered a challenger?

One ran in the Gumball Rally last year. There are about 4 or 5 other cars I can think of that are currently in production and true super cars that 99% of folks even car nuts don't know anything about..
You have to look at true niche cars. Hand made and crafted to the utmost in attention to detail and craftmanship. *NO* corners cut. No financers in the back looking to scrimp on quality.. Think along the lines of Saleen, Tommy Kiara, etc.

lets just hope the evo 9 if there is one, will lose some weight and gain some hp to keep up with these cats. and i could be wrong but i cant see the new supra costing 50k i'm thinking low 40s if anything, wasnt the reason why they ditched the last generation because of the jump in cost? a new tuned sti with a bump in power and suspension mods could pose a threat!
Westsidebilly, hate to diss you but I would check your info on the RS200. It was a production cars as it had to be to meet the Group B regulations (50 road going cars) and had to be road legal as many of the ROADS that they ran on where public, and still are today! The RS200E still holds the production car 0 to 60mph record I think of 3.07 seconds but I think the Zcars Z100WR has the 0 to 60 record of 2.8 for road going cars!
If you want a bit of the Group B action at a fraction of the cost, check these guys out!

Can you argue elsewhere plz.
Yeah, what's up with high-jacking the thread?
Listen, lets hold super exotics since there's no doubt that the McLaren F1 and the like will beat it on the track.
Might as well skip race cars as well.

Is the challenge to the Evo anything? or is it limited to 4 door cars? or cars within 20% price of the Evo? This is so vague, that's why I threw out some.. I think comparing a 911 S4 to an Evo is ridiculous in the real world. Price is too much a factor. on paper for nerdious nerdance maybe some tech specs or performance capabilities are similar, but come on.. Comparing very limited practicality 2 door sports cars to a 4 door spacious sedan that seats 5? What is the challenge here? what are the bounds of fair comparison?
