Buying a EvolutionVI (6) HELP.....

Ok heres the deal Im in the Philippines right now and I just left this shop called AutoPlus. I spoke with the owner and he owns the sickest evo I have ever seen in person! It was silver with bronze and white Adavn RGs, lowered with JIC Magics, Recaros, HKS gt ball bearing turbo so forth and so on 55k kelomiters about 30-35k miles ( I think) Anyways he wants 1 million pesos thats about 18Gs. What Do you all think? I will try to post pics tommorow. The other problem is shipping the car. My father is in the military and he told me that it might be a problem but if we were go thru the military that there is a chance. On more thing I spoke with one of his employees and he said he uped the price because Im filippino/america. The owner said before he would take half a million pesos thats 9 Gs Dude if thats the case I will be the only Guy in Phoenix Az with an Evo VI GS-R

PS
Daniel Email me your email address to my email so we can talk ***

I'm Military too bro, one of my best friend works in the Army MTMC ( transporting ) and you better be prepaired to pay anoth 6-K to make that car shipable into the US. There is no "military" exemption. The car still has to meet ALL US safety standards. You may wanna look into this before you buy a car you cant bring into the US.

OK OK I am about to try to give you the best advice you could possibly get. Here goes

Im gonna tell you to go for it at the same time I tell you DONT DO it. Also as a member of the US military overseas I too have the pleasure of owning an E6 GSR. And yes the car is a dream. Im telling you to do it cause it is your money and you do what you want. If the 6 is your dream car go for it, but be prepared to have a whole lot of the really tiny little print that no one reads

One thing is service. It aint like you can role up to your local Mitsu dealership and say "Can you flush the AYC fluid on my Evo 6".Definitly not something you can do in your back yard. Sure most of the parts from the 8 are likely to fit but it is the service that is going to get you in the end. Trust me.

As far as getting back to the states that is a story all alone, but here is the short version. There are lots of JDM Evos in the states. Very few of them came in the same way. The whole show/race thing about the most "legal" way of doing it. Like BadEvo said hope you live near a track. And yes there is no military exception, BUT (and a big BUT it is) if you are PCS'n to the states your orders will get it to to the states but registering it is a whole nother story. If you are in Cali it helps to be connected. The only other way is to make it a "born again" 2nd or 3rd gen Mirage, but that is illegal in more ways than one.

So the moral of the story is Dont Do it, no wait Do it. But wich everone you decide to do be prepared for some stress. If you got any questions or need any help PM me cause I would like to know what you do so I can do it to mine
