dealership fixed my grinding gears....

So to make a long story short, my 5th gear got to the point where it grinded every time you put it in gear, you could double clutch and it would stop the grinding but I decided to take it in, I have a buschur intake and MBC (set to 19psi no higher!!)

I asked the service lady if my mods would affect it, she said no biggey, anthing after the inake is ok, so the cone aif filters are ok. But I told her about the mbc, she said that would have a bearing on the problem. So I brought it in and they fixed everything perfect, the syncro the sleeve and a bunch of other parts.

NOW.... my 2nd and 3rd are grinding, just for the record I dont drive it very hard. and I know how to drive a clutch so its not my driving. my clutch has held up just fine.
but so I call them again, same mods. and I guess I got the manager, they looked at my car and of course said nothing was wrong with the shifting, but they said it wouldnt be covered anyways cause of your mods... I said but the other lady said it was fine, he said so, she is new....

he said the tech took my car out and said my boost was running around 24+ psi.... hehehe thats funny cuz I've never even seen my car peak a hair above 20. stupio techs. I think they even told the regional manager.

after a while of talking to him, he finally said we cant find anything wrong with your car, but were just going to forget about the "turbo boosterss" as he called it.

so anyways I'm affraid to go back in with that stuff on there after one of the already told me it was ok.

crazy places, this is the first warranty i've ever had on a car. stupid grinding gears!!!!!

ruff shifts and choppiness in 2nd and 3rd are normal.. I baby mine and have the same thing as do a lot of others. If they opened up and fixed your 5th, then everything else should be fine. I suggest adjusting the clutch pedal.. its reallllllly easy... adjust it outward so that you get longer travel and better disengagment, this will really smooth your shifts out. Sounds like your having typical disengagement problems which is very slowly eating away at yout tranny. My clutch is fine now and have had no further problems since I did the adjustment.

very simple.. there is a write up on here somewhere.. It simply adjusts the pedal alone a screw. There is a little 10mm i believe nut right where the clutch pedal meets the firewall. Loosen it, and then with your fingers rotate the little screw, kinda like squeezing a q-tip in the middle, rotate it to the right to bring the pedal out farther. Then tighten the little nut on it.. Note: the nut does not come off its just to secure the screw from moving..

sweet~

there was a recall thread on 5th syncros somewhere. I still see how you could grind it on your 5th.

I think my service guy put the clutch out a bit. It's about 1/4 inch up from the brake paddle.

Yup stainless lines, under the hood bushings, shifter bushing, and pedal adjustment, and clutch rod peg install. Makes my shifting clean and crisp, no more mis-shifts, and almost smooth gear changes now. Fairly simple to doo all yourself.. I did, and i didnt even know how to do an oil change right but 6 months ago...

I also have a problem with my 3rd.. but it doesn't grind it's just not crisp. Before I bought my evo I test drove 2 evos and they have the same problem going into 3rd... kinda notchy..

My third gear is gone. Can't get into 3 without grinding at any speed. 3.3k on the car. Dealer is taking care of it-as they should.
