We would have enjoyed your competition too. Sorry to hear that Racing Luck switched sides and dealt a bad hand at the "25".

I am sorry to hear about your weekends misfortunes, Paul. We missed you at the Streets of Willow. Congrats to Robi on a job well done! That old man has always been an excellent teammate, glad to see him saddle up and ride his beast like I have always known he could. The bummer about driving a former drag car on a road course is having a penalty box for a transmission, as we were fastest in practice, running a mid 25 on the first lap the car ever ran on a road course, but the trans was already dead. My shootout lap in-car video shows the gearbox popping out of gear every time I was in third gear, certainly not the fastest way around the track:-( I would like to thank Robi, Kent Jordan, Mark McComsey, Dieter, Ricky Rogers(who is bad *** fast for a newbie) and Scott and the rest of the Sparco team for giving me the opportunity and pleasure of working with them, and taking the top 6 positions at this event. It was great to see so many EVO owners at the racetrack, as well as the older cars that Mitsubishi brought out for all to admire. Thanks to all for attending.

John and everyone at RRE, thank you for your hard work and support during the last several days... It was so nice to finally have a car that handled as it should. I'm shocked with how much of a difference your set-up has made to the Sparco EVO. We're only sorry that our car did not run to justify your efforts.

It was a great event and Robi took a well deserved victory. Congratulations, 'Ol Man.

Thanks John, in hindsight we should have been at Willow . But like anyone else who feels like they were delt a bum hand, we have to go back (as you know it's just too much damn fun!).

Complaining about your car popping out of third you only need it for 80% of the track . Would have been fun to see how fast you could have gone with a healthy car that you had time to set-up. Next time

Take care, Paul

We also wanted to say a big thank you to Jason and Beau at Revolvercams.com for getting us the best cams on the market for the Evo VIII. Without the cams the car would not have the midrange pull and top end charge neccessary to compete. Also a big thank you to Franz at KTR for getting the Autronic working like a dream on the car. Great tune Franz!!!

Giant Thank You....

Everyone:

I wanted to give a giant thanks to the people and companies who helped get my car through the shootout:

Thanks to MikeW and Roadrace Engineering(www.roadraceengineering.com) for countless efforts tranforming my car into a scary fast monster. I need to point out, the thanks goes not only to the work they did on the car as much as the wealth of knowledge that Mike and everyone at Roadrace Engineering have shared to help clean up the mess that my car was before I brought it to their shop, as well as the many late nights of work they allowed me to do at the shop and for saving me from myself with their wisdom.

A big thanks to Scot Gray(www.dsmporn.com) for his amazing abilities in tuning my car, as well as for putting up with my endless newbie questions while learning the AEM EMS. Scot put effort in above the call in getting my car to run with its amazing powerband and turbo selection advice. Scot's tuning came courtesy of RRE so another thanks to them for the intro...

A thank you also goes out to Culver at GT Fabrications(www.gtfabrications.com), for helping to make my fuel system...

A big thank you goes out to Quantum Racing's Mark Myers(www.quantum-racing.com), who has been responsible for procuring the amazing custom headwork and intake manifold from BJ's Cylinder Heads(www.bjscylinderheads.com), as well as the design of the fuel system. Mark also gets a thanks for helping to school me on the tuning and for his advice that helped to make the car so strong on the motor.

FYI, Mark flew out all the way from Ohio to be at the event and was a constant help the whole event, tuning, changing tires, brake pad grinding etc. and acting as my crew partner for the event.

A big thanks goes to John Williamson, for his amazing instruction at EOC events as well as for driving my car during the event and taking 3rd while driving around some fuel injector issues.

Thank you and congratulations go to Robi, for advice, supporting EOC events as well as instructing in them. Great Job Robi!

Thank you is also in order for Dino and Rob and all the folks that help to make SoCalEvo.net, the community it is, as well has helping to support EOC track events.

Thanks also to Enkei for supporting EOC events and the car.

A warm thank you also goes to Sparco and Scot Gladstone for their generous support of past EOC events as well as helping with the some of the safety components for my car. The harness bar and harnesses really helped to keep us planted while driving it.

Finally, thanks goes to John Mueller who was responsible for me getting to RRE, meeting Scot Gray, countless hours of work on the car, putting up with my newbie questions while fixing the car and of course, the suspension setup from the gods, that is his trademark. Also a thanks for helping me to learn how to get the most out of it on the track and educating me about the issues that come up with preparing a car for the track.

John Mueller and slider also get a big thanks for accomodating me and my car at the event and generously lending help from their crew, brake pads, tools etc that allowed us to fix some of the last minute bugs as well as for the event.

It was a real pleasure to see them work their magic on the Sparco car, Yellow car, slider's car while at the same time, fitting me in with them. Everyone on that crew is a class act and a giant help.

Congrats also to slider for his amazing performance in the silver "Muellerized" evo that beat my car by 1/100 of a second! Watching slider's progress has truly been inpirational.

Also thank you goes out to everyone who has helped to support and attend EOC Driving events, as well as for feedback so we can make them better.

I look forward to seeing Evo's on the track in more competitive events and a hope we get more and more folks to the track so they can experience their evo the best way- HELMET ON!

Side note: the 7 fastest evos at the Evolutionm.net event are participants/ supporters of EOC driving events. Come to the next EOC event and see just how fast these cars can be!

On a final note, thanks goes out to Mitsubishi bring us the Evolution- these cars are amazing!

Mark McComsey
