Not starting anything, just curious as to how those MR's did and what mods they were running.

Just to clarify, Robi was not running on slicks. He was running a new version of Toyo tires (not RA-1).

Whatever the politics are it's gotta sting.

Sorry Smog, but respect is earned. I have done zero business with RRE and have no opinion of their services either way.

I talked to him about the tire change for almost 5 minutes before everyone left for the awards dinner. Ask Robi what exact Goodyears he ran on for the final time trial. I don't think they were G19s. Robi said he believes these were better than Hoosiers because they have are designed to carry heavier loads than the Hoosiers. IIRC Robi figured the stiffer sidewalls of the Goodyears more than made up for the specs were the Hoosier's appear to be better.
BTW, weather was identical for for the EOC 3 and the Evom shootout. I was at both. Were you?

However, you should know that MMSA DID give RRE a brand new Evo when they first came out. (Their blue one.) RRE, correct me if I'm wrong.

I gave up on mending anything a long time ago. But there is nothing to mend between RRE and Vishnu. (SoCal/NorCalEvo and Vishnu, now that is another story.) I just genuinely like Mike, John, Robert, Knower, and Tony at RRE. They are originals (personality-wise), have done good work on my car several times, and I wouldn't hesitate to go back to them, which I will when they install my Quaiffe LSD. KK, sorry, I'll do my best to steer back on topic.

Robi said he was running the new Toyo R888s on the track at first, but he said they were better when the track was cold. As the track heated up, he decided to make the switch. Or so he told everyone at the dinner after the track event, the one you missed out on, Tom.
I found a couple more pictures.
The A'Spec Evo tearing it up.

More interior shots of Robi's Evo. It is seriously gutted.

Robi, sitting next to Kent Jordan, as he accepts a call from President Bush, congratulating him on his victory.

Aaron Bitterman and KK speaking to a captivated audience.
