I've had my Defi gauges hooked up for almost a year now. No problems so far. I'm using the adapter from 42draftdesigns.

is there room to t off that adapter instead of using a 45 degree adapter to install oil pressure and temp?

i kno these questions are getting repetative, i just dont have the time to look under the car for my self.

there's 2 hex plugs, get 2 adaptors from 42draft and you're good to go

+1

But I think you only need one of the elbows. The other hex plug is a straight shot out. The other hex plug you'll need the elbow to get around the oil filter. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

On my 9, I installed the sender on the side of head as Invoice EVO did (see pics below) as it was the easiest to get to. Had it on the car for about a month now.

But, this may not be the best spot on the 9. Does the 9 have some restrictions or valves up there that maintain the pressure at a constant levels? Reason I ask is that my readings to not fluctuate like other cars I have had (such as increase in pressure as rpm's & WOT are increased).

My Evo 9 readings are as follows:
- After starting the car (cold), it will read about 60 psi for 2 mins
- It drops down to about 25-30ish psi in the next 5 mins or so and remains constant at that level no matter what kind of rpm or throttle position is used.
- At idle, it drops to about 0-5psi or so.
- Prolonged periods (10-15mins or more) of constant high rpm at WOT, pressure makes its way from the constant 25psi reading to about that of idle (I'm guessing the increased oil temps get the oil really thin)

There is nothing wrong with the car and the sender/gauge appears to function properly.

Any thoughts on this?

There is no better spot. Pick one and be done with it.

The reason you have a gauge is to make sure it doesn't say 0. If it hits 0 you're in trouble.

Pick a spot and start worring about what beer you're going to buy while doing the install.

i guess you have to wonder what is more likley to go out...the motor or the oil pump..and that will determine which spot you use..

I think close to the stock sender location is best imo...

Are there any gauges that have the warning feature but do not require the use of a control box?

my stock oil temp gauge went nuts today.

It PEGGED past 150, outta nowhere, so i stopped, slapped the gauge a few times, with no result.

Felt both my oil cooler lines, and they weren't THAT hot. Let the car sit for 25-30 minutes, and it was still pegged, i still had plenty of oil pressure and plenty of oil.

Then during the next session, it started working again, then again, went nuts-o.

One more question, in reference to tapping the head for the oil pressure sensor, Invoice Evo (around post #94) used this spot on the head.

There are three "taps" in that area, all in a row, about 2" apart from each other. Is any of the 3 spots ok to use? (the below pic only shows the middle of the three) It looks like the middle one (circled in the pic) is the most accessible one, is that the one to use? Thanks
