this is a good spot to tap for your oil pressure.

return from the oil going to head. Easy to tap into, just take off the black bracket there and you will see the little hex screw in there, just take that out and screw in your pressure sender.. done.

yeah.... I originally had it by the filter, after talking to several people I switched it to go up there by the head.

I get alot of PM's asking where to tap so I figured the picture would help.

^^^This looks like such a better spot than the plug on the oil filter housing. Hope my Defi sender will plug right in.

I did my oil pressure gauge this way and it reads low when I throw it in neutral. Did I do something wrong? Should I try mounting it in a different location?

it should, because it does get lower when not on the throttle.

It actually goes down to zero... Is there a place to mount that gets more accurate results? Since my motor seems fine, i figured my oil pressure isn't really going to zero. Is it possible I need a new oil pump or something?

Sometimes that happens, you are talking about a condition which occurs occassionally when you depress the clutch/pull it out of gear?

My car does this all the time, almost stalls in fact. It did it stock, and it does it now, I just figured it's typical 4g63 behavior. FYI I have my oil pressure sender in the hex bolt hole near the oil filter.

that is a true reading.. remember, you are measuring pressure where it goes at the very last... we are talking about oil return at the head... after hard sessions at the track my pressure will drop nearly to zero at idle.

if it makes you feel better you can mount the sender by the filter/pump and you'll see high readings there all day.
