Oil Pressure and Temp Gauge Install

I started the install this morning and have spent nearly 3 hours (no joke) trying to remove the black bracket that shields the tap location.
After the first hour, I sprayed some WD40 at the head at the threads to see if it could loosen it.
I waited another hour and tried again.
No luck.
I'm so damn frustrated.
Here's a stupid question.
To remove the two nuts of the bracket at rear of the engine cover, which direction is to loosen.
As logic dictates; I've been rotating counterclockwise (oriented as if you're standing in front of the car looking into the engine).
Am I rotating the wrong direction?
Any help is appreciated.
I used autometers 1/8 npt to 1/8 bspt adaptor part #2269 and an angled piece that came with 42 draft designs oil pressure adaptor to set the sender. There wasn't any room for the pressure sender. Having that piece came in handy so I could angle the sender upward.

Yeah I have the Defi one. I just ordered that 42 draft designs piece, so I'll probably be using your pics for the install. Thanks for all the help, I'm sure all those doing this will appreciate it.

does the upper intercooler pipe still fit with ur sending unit there?
You guys crack me up, every single oil return is at 0psi, period. That port you're tapping at the head is a feed port to the head.... the pressure is lower there than the block because it is farther from the pump and more components have taken the oil first (ie crank, rods).
If you're really in an oil return and reading 25 psi, that's your crankcase pressure and your motor is toast.
If you're really in an oil return and reading 25 psi, that's your crankcase pressure and your motor is toast.

ok so then where is the BEST place to tap this fitting for the sending unit???
I dont think Superhatch said that it was an actual bad spot for oil pressure sender. Just corrected us that it was a feeder not a return.
I also noticed in the post above (invoice evo) that the port there is a 1/8 bspt, I know you were wondering about the size.

Someone mentioned the factory oil sender is under the #1 intake runner also might be a good spot?
I think that's what Defi actually wants you to use, it says in the booklet to tap in where the original sender is. But to me that means that it's not going to use the OEM one anymore and could cause issues with the CEL or something. Plus, good luck getting to that easily. My vote is for down by the filter.
