Thanks,

So what's the official word? Is it better to do it down by the filter or at the head? Do you guys with it down at the filter see the low readings at idle? I ordered the Defi BF Imperial boost and oil pressure, and it came with what looks to be conversion socket, which looks like the silver part in this picture http://www.42draftdesigns.com/product/42902.htm. Do I have to buy that little copper angled piece as well? I've done a lot of reading but can't seem to find a definite answer.

return from the oil going to head. Easy to tap into, just take off the black bracket there and you will see the little hex screw in there, just take that out and screw in your pressure sender.. done.

What happened to the pics?

I was going to install my pressure sensor today, but need the pics to find the exact location of the tap location.

Can somebody repost the pics.

Thank you.

if oyu mount it by the filter you will see very high readings, if you mount it by the head you will see low readings.

the 'safest' spot is by the head. That is where it would loose pressure first.

I can post some pics up later. I put my sender in this location.

It reads real low, I'm around 25#'s when driving the car, 5# when idleing.

hey Nils, what is the deal with that bracket? I see why you took it off, it weights a ton.

That's up by the head right? Does it ever hit zero? I just want to mount it in the safest spot, but I thought the head return was the last place the oil goes, so if it lost pressure there, it would be too late. If you see zero down by the filter, is that worse than zero at the head?

if I am understanding this right..... you would loose pressure at the head first. as the return oil goes back to the pan/pump it would not feed as much back up there, so while there would be lots oil bleeding down there would be none at the head. ofcourse I dont have a phd in 4g63 so I could be wrong. Timzcat or Mike W. would probably know something like this.

hope you got peak warning guage, really helps to get your attention.

It only hits zero when it's off. When the car warmed and at idle it sits at 5 psi. Driving the car tonight the max psi I was hitting while accelarting was 38 psi. Crusing on the interstate not accelerating it sits at 25 psi. I'm using the autometer carbon 0-100 psi gauge.

As for it being the best spot for the unit I'm not sure. If it turns out that it isn't the best spot I'll just put it under the car.

Guys I did a little research awhile back and this is what I found out about what the oil pressure should be:

Idling- around 4.2psi

3,500rpm- 43psi- 100psi

Hope that helps.
