okay don't flame me for using the stock infinity system instead of going out and buying aftermarket ones which would be better yada yada yada. i probably should have done that at the begining but since I didn't...

has anyone done this and can you briefly explain how everything is supposed to go hooked up.. i got the head unit, amp, rear speakers, and tweeters. i plugged the head unit in and then plugged the rear speaker in just to see if it would work. but alas, no sound. do i need to run the head unit to the amp for everything to work? i'm kind of new at audio install stuff and i am just plugging stuff in, in the hopes that it will work.

yes it does

 

are you sure you connected the speaker wires to the head unit right?

 

The RS comes with the wire harness that plugs directly into the stock head unit. I did not have to mess with any wires. Speakers also plug in directly.

 

you should get sound to the speakers if the head unit is powered on. try hooking it up to a different speaker
