I just ordered my AMSOIL filter along with 5 quarts of AMSOIL, which should be coming here within a few days. After reading this, I got scared because now I'm wondering if I need to replace my oil drain plug as well and I'm not too sure what the old copper crush washer is. Also, if I do need to replace it is there a specific type/brand I should go with or can I just find one that works at a local auto store or even a dealer?

Crush washers can be had all over
It is usually stuck at the end of the threads on the drain plug
Once threads are good and hex part has square edges then drain plug doesn't need to be changed
