This was a really helpful writeup. I just put an Exedy triple in my car. Car seems to shift fine, go in to gear, etc... but it does engage a bit "high" for my tastes. Now I know how to adjust it some to get to a place I like the peddle travel. So, here's a bump for a old, but helpful thread

I just went and adjusted mine after slight grinding here and there despite the clutch being depressed to the floor. Felt spongy after engagement when fully warmed up.

I lowered it and now everything feels much better. I also thought about raising it, but figured I'd take the advice here and try lowering it first. Lowering it did the trick and now I'm happy. The pedal also doesn't come quite as high up when released, but still has enough slack at the top. Sometimes the little things make the car more fun to drive

I've always had a grind from 4th-5th (higher than 3k shift), then lately it was hard going into 1st & reverse (from a stand still). Just did this adjustment and easy 1st & reverse... Know on Monday (when I use the I-95) if it fixed the pre-5th grind.

Bump for this quality thread. My clutch was dragging at around 6200 RPM (sit in 1st and rev method). If I put pressure on the gear stick in 1st before I hit the clutch, it would jump out of gear when I did hit the clutch, that has stopped. All the gears go in and out heaps better now. I'm quite pleased.

I've adjusted as far as the slave cylinder will allow me to, almost ran out of thread on the clutch pedal and I've checked the clutch isn't slipping. However it is still dragging at 7500+ RPM.

Any advice anyone?

on a cold start up, 1st and reverse are basically non existent right now, going to try playing with this tomorrow morning to see if itll help anything, and occasionally at stops i cant go into 1st, so hopefully this will fix both of those problems. Awesome thread!

Question...
I had my first Exedy clutch install, and I adjusted the pushrod just like from the picture, and everything is fine. But a week later, it began to feel soft again and engages right away (close to the floor). Are Exedy's normally like that? Shifter Bushings?
Also, I bled my brake lines today and checked the slave cylinder for leaks and that was fine also.
Thanks

If anyone has trouble getting into a good position to adjust your clutch this is what I do,
Scoot the seat all the way back, sit in the seat upside down (yes you read that correctly). Let your legs rest on the outsides of the headrest (gives you stability). get an LED shop light, a short 12mm open end wrench, longer wrenches just don't have the room needed. and its pretty self explanatory from there

Have you readjusted your clutch since then?

Hey guys, the problem with this method is you are making an educated guess. Once you thread out the clutch petal too much you can actually block off the fluid to the slave cylinder. The slave is self adjusting but if you adjust too far you disable that function.

Check out this video from Jacks transmission. He explains it better then i can

Verified with the guys at Jacks and they said this method still applies
