Becareful with teflon tape, I used have similar setup, whole thing was leaking from teflon tape while temp goes high. Teflon tape is not recommanded for track from here.

Thanks for the write up - I just installed my Oil pressure gauge and it was pretty easy. Didnt need a breaker bar either!

 

Im installing the Oil pressure and temp gauges this week. Already took the 2 bolts out, was very hard to get them out I may add.

As for sealent, Im going to use Permatex High Temperature Thread Sealant. Using taflon tape is not recommended, as it creates a barrier between the engine and the sensor. Sensor has to be grounded to the engine, and if not, it may give you incorrect readings

yea i did this install last week... i did need a breaker bar... besides the fact that my garage is not as roomy as i would like it to be... lol. great write up btw, i had read thru it a couple of times before i even started working on the car.
im using teflon tape... and it hasnt given me any problems yet, but we'll see

does the oil and temp HAVE to be in the holes as shown in the pics or can it be the other way around too?

 

what did you guys use to get out those bolts on the filter housing??? im doing this install tomorrow and i hope i have the right tool to get them out!

 

It doesn't matter. both are oil holes so I assume you are talking about oil pressure and oil temp senders.

 

my sensor runs an oil line to the cabin on mine, so is it okay still to use teflon? or is it absolutely necessary to use threadlocker still?

 

They are pipe threads so you really don't even need either. But if you want that added security use teflon just be cautious and make sure it is only on the threads and no excess can get in the line. it won't hurt anything but your gauge

 

is this the screw that i have to unscrew for the oil pressure sensor? im installing my defi bf oil pressure on tues. need an answer asap.

Yes

Its just a brass pipe fitting you can get at your local hardware store and only you will know if you need it or not, all depends on how your sending unit hangs down and if its in the way. But thats something you can get at the local store no problem.

going to use this HOW-TO Sunday and finally install my Defi BF oil temp/press gauges.

I have a 42draftdesigns install fitting and thread sealant, OEM filter and oil.

Will let everyone know how it goes.

 

No need to send it back, SW (i have those as well) need very good ground, I had similar issue with my A/F gauge, after grounding it better had no problems after that
